Who knows about the RD-700 board?
Hi,
I LOVE the Roland RD-700 Keyboard feel and touch.. it's perfect for me! Does anybody know what board they use ? is it a Roland propetary? And, since the pricetag on this synth is to high, is there any other Keyboard with exactly the SAME key system ...
I knew !
Hahah !!! I used to be the International manager of Bush for Chile and Argentina.. this is why !!

Is this a Bush furniture ?
Hi Michael !
Great picture ! Hey, is this a BUSH furniture Offce Pro Cherry corner piece you are using on your setup ???

I agree on the SCSI
ambi ! I agree with you.. todays IDE are super fast and less expensive...... also, if you go SCSI, you will need a good scsi card, that's also an extra cost...
In my setup I have a 7,000 rpm ultra fast ide and an external Firewire 7,000rpm maxtor hdd... great combination...
Where can I test a Fatar ?
Where can I test a Fatar keyboard ??? I can't find them in my retailers (Sam Ash, Mars Music...) Does anybody know here in the Miami, FL area ?
Thanks,
Alex
Did you try THE GRAND form Steinberg?
Hi Twist !
I am also into piano.. well, on the semi-pro side anyway, I am very critic on sound, but my playing is not that pro :)
I would recomend you take a good look at THE GRAND from Steinberg, ... it's a VST (soft sample) so I don't know if you are...
If you are into making music, creat a profile with NO network card at all !... In windowsXP go to Control Panel, System, hardware, profiles and create one unabeling the network card.
THis is only if you want to concentrate your computer in music creation.

I have the Tascam us428, it's being rated here as 10ms on a pIII-700 with 128 ram and win2000...
I have a p4-2Ghz, 1Gb Ram and WinXP-Pro.... can I expect less latency ??? Is this latency thing a soundcard, driver or computer problem ?? If it's a combination, where is the biggest bottleneck...
xv-5050 and S08
Hi,
I found a winning combination...
A Yamaha S08 as a MIDI controller and a Roland XV-5050 as a SoundGenerator.... you got here one of the best piano feels (s08) and one of the most versatil SGs (xv-5050)
Also, you can use the Yamahas synth if you want.. Idon't like it that...
Yes.. Firewire is better than USB 2.0
Hi Chris !
Yes.. I totally agree with you.. FireWire is a more mature technology in the music field... BUT.. USB 2.0 has more money to lure Microsoft, Intel and Dell... so do not expect a Firewire "default" option in a PC near you soon...
:)

No USB 2.0
Hi,
I had the same question a few months ago... and I talked with Tascam directly and they told me that there is NO plans for a 2.0 version... also, the 428 firmware cannot be upgraded to USB 2.0...
So, there will be NO USB 2.0 support for the 428
There might be a new model out...
Hi!
I just finished the book called "Home Recording Power! by Ben Milstead" (ISBN: 1929685084) And I really loved it !!! Great way to explain the basics to a novice like me...
Unfortunately, my music is more focused on the Synth (new age) with no acustic instruments and Mics ...
Does anybody...
The 002 is tooooo much!
Hi bwalker!
I am also a beginner, but at least I have my DAW ready... at least, I think :)
The Digi002 is TOO MUCH for us beginners... I was at a Protools clinic and even the sales rep told me that for beginners at my stage (New age music.. no vocals, no complicated mic...
Hi,
I have Cubase SX. I have the script for the XV-5050, I put the 5050
in Perfomance mode, then I select patches in cubase... the strange
thing is that the instruments played sound totally different... some
sound like it has parts missing, others with too much delay, etc.. a
total mess...
