I can't get into the mic locker and studios (except during class) but I have friends on studio staff who have access to it whenever.

I live in connecticut, so I'm probably not too close to anything like that, but my school has recording studios and an extensive mic locker. I'm a music production major and I don't have access to the studios myself, but I know some people who could probably get me in to try out some mics now...

I did that, and it still has that click when played from my ipod (to headphones). So it's not my speakers if that's what you mean by system. And I'm sure I don't have a stutter. This has happened with other singers that I've recorded as well.

So basically I keep getting these weird and annoying pops/clicks in vocal tracks that usually, but not always, occur on consonants. They seem to be somewhat random, because if I bounce a song again, sometimes the clicks just go away. Here is a sample of this problem which occurs (in the first...

To finally close up this thread, my problem is solved! Too much mud around 500hz that was eating up headroom as well as making my mixes sound much duller and less clear than they should. Thanks a lot for the help everyone, frequency response was definitely the root of the problem.

I haven't tried that extensively but it seemed that it caused no noticeable distortion when pushed pretty hard (this was just a test of course). Less distortion = sounding better and louder volume = louder volume, which are both things that I want so I'd say it'll help in both of those aspects...

Another huge part of it is my limiter! After trying out the demo of Voxengo Elephant, I was easily able to give my mixes that extra push with far less artifacts and distortion than Logic's built in limiter gave me.

Voxengo Elephant. I've just been using the demo and easily it can go way louder than my limiter without clipping. I need it, you need it, it's the best I've found by far!
