I have a 1202 VLZ and a JK audio inline phone patch. I want to use my mic to speak to the party on the other end of the phone and hear him through my headphones. The rear of the patch has an XLR "Send to Phone Line" and a male and XLR "From Phone Line" There's no problem connecting the...
Thanks for the reply John. So I should cover the rear wall as much as possible and it would be sufficient to separate the panels on the sides. I have a curtained window in front of the mixing console.
I searched this board for wall treatment info and will be using rigid fibreglass panels. My room is 10'x10'. I am thinking 2'x4' panels on the walls but should I use say three panels with approx. 1 foot in between or use four panels and butt them up tight to each other across the wall.
Thanks so much guys. I got it working today. What a pleasue it is to work with two monitors. I greatly appreciate your advice which made it easy to incorporate.
Before investing in a second video card, I need some info on using two monitors for recording and editing purposes. If I install another video card and monitor, what procedure has to be undertaken to make the wave editor appear on one monitor while the plugs ins; compressor, eq, etc appear on...
Hey faithmonster, would you mind describing your computer case in a little more detail. How does the venting work. Any special lining within the interior of the cabinet?
I am considering either the RNC or Waves Renaissance compressor. Both have received rave reviews. Anybody have experience with both, if so, your comments would be greatly appreciated.

From everything I have read, the FMR RNC is the way to go for a quality compressor. However, a noise gate would be beneficial in a home studio. I am considering the Waves C1 plug in bundle as an alternative. Has anybody had the opportunity to use both of these items for comparison purposes...
I'm using various compressor plug ins and so far impressed with the quality from some of them. I'm not in a position to compare the plug ins to an outboard unit. Any comments on comparisons would be greatly appreciated.
I use the Shure KSM 32 strictly for voiceover work and very impressed with it. Usually, I use Neumann U 87, U 89, AT 4033. When I can afford the Neumann's I will get the TLM 103. I made the right decision going with the Shure for my purpose.
On some sites, the audio plays too fast making the voice sound like "minnie mouse". It seems to be just on Windows Media Player, as Real Audio and Quicktime Player are fine.
How can I adjust the preferences or settings on Media Player to fix the problem?
Thanks for your reply guys.
I have the output from the mixer going to DMAN input 3, Dman output 1 into line 4 of mixer. When I select Device Preferences, it lists; Playback Device, (1st) Dman 2044 1/2 playback; Recording Device, damn 2044 3/4.

I am about to purchase a new system. I was prepared to buy a Pentium lll, 550 mhz but was recently told the Athlon 550 would be more effecient. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Anybody have experience with the Behringer 1602A? It looks like an interesting mixer but I haven't heard too much about it. Is it comparable to the Mackie 1202VLZ? Any comments on the unit would be appreciated.
