Thanks for the reply. Dang, I thought it was 16 tracks on it's own. I'm sort Cro Magnon with the technology these days. I can't tell from reading the blurb in a catalog what exactly these digital things DO.

What's the general opinion about this unit? 2 questions right off the bat are 1. can you store onto a CD if you fill up the hard drive & 2. what are ADAT optical I/O's? How are they different from any other optical I/O's?

4 minutes??!! I thought it was 25 minutes, I didn't understand that whole "track minutes" thing. I'll pass on this one. FD-8 used is probably my best bet.

Re: MR-8 I think it only has reverbs and delays as effects, along with cab and mike simulations. You should just get a stand alone compressor for vocals, that's a must.

I just heard about this thing today. I was looking at a used Tascam 488 Mk.II cassette 8 for the same price but this thing looks pretty cool. Looks like it only has a 2 band EQ whereas the 488 has mid sweep.

I've still got my old Portastudio HS:rolleyes: Have you looked into a POD or V-Amp or any of those direct recording things? I noticed Musicians Friend is blowing out the version 1 V-Amp for $79. I tried one the other weekend, it wasn't bad.

I got a chance to listen to them here at work. I like Kindness, the verses especially but I think as someone else said harmonies on the chorus would help a lot, on the word 'kindness'. I dig all the classic Titman dual lead lines! And the synth line - I liked that sound, retroish and all...
