There's a book that came out a few weeks ago called "Mastering Music at Home-How to Master Your Recordings for CD and Web Distribution".It's one of the best tech books I've ever read.Get it,even if you just want to know what mastering is,not nessessarily get into it.

So can I just route all my tracks,minus the vocals,to another track and then apply the type of EQing you described to the two overall tracks?Many people do that with their drum tracks. I didn't mean to hijack this thread but I think I did.Sorry.

Could you tell us more about what you are mastering? Did you use anaolg or digital to record If digital,which DAW Real drummer or programmed It could make a difference.I'm trying learn about this too.

The book is actually very dry and technical so she just breaks down what she considers to be good poetry.I'm about half way through but something tells me I'll be reading the whole thing several times. "And miles to go before we sleep".

The Lpx 5 does have some reverb settings but they are buried in the multi effects section it turns out.I'm not sure if I'll just stick with the 5 or go for an Lpx 1 or a PCM 60.Love that Lexicon sound.Thanks.
