    Getting started!

No problem. Why on earth you'd put the amp in the wardrobe : D That doesn't improve acoustics. Unless it's a combo amp, put the speaker cabinet there... ;) I think that statement means you want to have a smaller/closed space to record what's coming from the speaker. I've been wondering the same...

    A Little Help

Does your keyboard have the midi output? You said you were going to get a cable for that, so I assume yes. What you need is an audio interface, as suggested above. Do some research about them; remember what you want/need. I'd suggest you to look for an interface which has two inputs and midi...

    What's limiting YOUR recordings??

Everything. I don't have mics, I don't have monitors, I have no room treatment, I don't have stands, I don't have even decent quality cables... Yet.

    digital recording help (pro tools)

You need to read more. Bringing mixes louder is done in mastering phase. Guitars don't sound as powerful just because you listen to the pure, raw guitar signal (unless you have something like amplitube). You can't just ask "How to mix properly". Find the answer yourself. btw, compressor is...

    Free Waves OneKnob Louder

OneKnob louder is really great, I had no hassle with the installing (have to admit the license center thing is confusing). It does what it says, it's really great for boosting raw tracks a bit.. I haven't used it much because I have nothing to work on (yet). Quality plugin.

Two mic drum recording - full mix!

Brilliant! Sound is pretty punchy. Hah you should've heard our little song in which we recorded the drums with a single SM57. But hey, thanks for the video, great advice.

    "Metalcore" Demo

It sounds great man! I want to know how did you do those insane bass drops, I've heard them way too often, share the secret! ;) Well, I can't compare this to a professional recording, but what it needs is some mastering IMO, it lacks some of the punch you get from "real studios n shit". Pretty...

    This ever happen to you?

Something quite similar has happened to me a couple of times... Restarting usually solves the problem. No idea why though.

    Recording bass guitar via DI

Yeaaaahhh I've met the same problem... Amplitube 3 sucks with bass, at least for me. The bass sounded muddy, it had no characteristics whatsoever and it was just plain sound... Then I got IK's Ampeg SVX software and it sounds great! Check that out if you have ~100$ to spend :P And yeah, double...

Beginner buying a Lap top, please help :)

Well, I think you're not going for a professional sound quality, so I suggest you to buy a decent laptop with enough ram and a processor that won't freeze up when you open couple softwares. Now you can't record with just the laptop, you need a mic. USB mic would be the cheapest way to go...

How to hook electronic drums up to record on a laptop?

Well, you can't get hyper quality with the stock sounds of your drumkit. If you wanted to invest more money, you could get an interface which has midi in and Superior Drummer 2 or Ezdrummer software to get better sounds... Or then you can get the 30$ Behringer interface :D All up to you. I'd...

How big problem would my room shape make a.k.a should I invest on a studio or not?

Thanks GIK, I sent you PM :) Yeah, I have to take care of the reflection points for sure. Monitor placement might be crucial here. Oh man you guys here are so awesome! Can't thank enough.

How big problem would my room shape make a.k.a should I invest on a studio or not?

Okay! So I've done #1 plan of my room. This is how it looks like in its glorious cubic shape: So guys, does anyone have some thoughts about this? Remember the wall which isn't visible has a window, so if the 1st reflection hits it I will have some problems. Anyway, ideas?

How big problem would my room shape make a.k.a should I invest on a studio or not?

Thanks for the response. I didn't even consider the angled corners. I have to do something to them, too. I'm currently drawing my room in SketchUp 8 (3D modelling software) and doing some plans. I'll post some pictures of it here in near future.

How big problem would my room shape make a.k.a should I invest on a studio or not?

How should I approach my room when, after I've moved my desk, I have only one corner that is treatable? You see, I can't really move my bed, so I can't put anything to that corner. I'll remove my bookshelf and use that space to create a "vocal booth". Maybe I could hang a board higher in that...

How big problem would my room shape make a.k.a should I invest on a studio or not?

You're right, I've done some research already and I'm moving in a couple of years (when I finish high school and army). You're really good! I don't need a bigger interface because I won't need more than two inputs. When I do, I might get one with 8 or more inputs (to record drums etc). As far as...
