    DP-24: Burning a 24 bit Master

Thanks for the replies! Problem solved. I updated the firmware and now all mastered songs are listed and can be burned to CD. The DP-24 can mixdown and master 24-bit/48k tracks but before the firmware was updated only 16/44.1 masters were accessable at the CD burning stage.

    DP-24: Burning a 24 bit Master

I've burned recordings made at 16 bit but now I have one where I used 24 bit 48k. Is there something I can do to convert it to 16 bit 41k and burn it with the machine? Thanks!

    Fraud by The Jongleurs mixes

I downloaded the one in the first post here. It's 625 MB and for type it says "file." The zip folder from your link is 115 MB but it will not unzip. Using WINRAR it says the file is either incomplete or corrupt. Using Windows to unzip it says "no files to extract." If you can help, fine, but...

    Fraud by The Jongleurs mixes

Forgive my ignorance here, but how do I use this? I unzipped it and it's one 600+ MB file. I thought it would be a bunch of smaller files.

how can i fix can i fix a really dull bas drum ?

I understand. I'm not saying to "purposefully" make it sound bad - Just not overprocessed and synthetic. I've heard stuff that is super produced and it sounds like crap as well. Yep, and after I posted it I forgot all about the drum mix itself. I don't know how many other mics are on the kit...

how can i fix can i fix a really dull bas drum ?

Well, I'm going to go against the grain here. You say it's punk, right? Do you want it to sound sweet and polished? Maybe even beautiful??? NO! It should be raw and dirty. I say use as little processing as possible. I hear too many recordings that are so processed they sound fake and synthetic...

    DP-24 - I love it (so far)

Not that I've noticed. Besides, an "automatic" panner wouldn't know when I want to sweep back and forth. I am sure the 'two-track' method will work but it's like the last thing to do when making a final mix. I haven't got there yet, that darn guitarist won't answer his phone. :)

    DP-24 - I love it (so far)

I know imported files go to the AUDIO DEPOT.

    DP-24 - I love it (so far)

It will sweep from one side to the other, it just requires MANY rotations. :( I am sure the two track fader method will do the job without a problem. When will I get around to doing it, THAT is the question. :)

crackles and pops. re-cap time?--388 related

Hi. I am getting pops and crackles, even a squelching sound when sweeping the EQ knobs. Is this just dirt or something else? Thanks!

    DP-24 - I love it (so far)

It pans right to left fully but since it's a digital knob it must be rotated several times around to go from one end to the other. An analog knob has a complete swing of maybe 300-330 degrees from one side to the other. Yes, as I stated it works fine, just not able to sweep completely with one...

    DP-24 - I love it (so far)

I am learning the ins and outs of this machine day by day via trial and error. :) One thing I am not too keen on is the panning knob. Suppose I want the guitar lead to go back and forth. It is impossible to go from far left to far right in one sweep, like I could do on the 388. However, I think...

    DP-24 - I love it (so far)

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I figured that out. I am still just learning to use some of the features, with this digital format being new to me. I had a PortaOne many years ago and then I got a 388, which I love but unfortunately she is quite sick and I am not sure what's wrong and whether or...

    DP-24 - I love it (so far)

Thanks for the quick reply! Actually, I just got the DP-24 and I'm trying to use the Virtual Track function. Was having a bit of trouble understanding how it worked but after I posted I went back to tinkering with it and I think I have just figured out how to use it. Don't wander off too far...

    DP-24 - I love it (so far)

Hi. Forgive my ignorance here, but can someone enlighten me with the "Virtual Tracks" function? Everytime I attempt to create one it erases the one I just did. I thought I could do 8 takes on one track and then go back and review. Thanks in advance!
