    Sharp noise spike inflitrates audio

Actually I purchased an "APC Pro700 Back Up" power supply with pole to pole noise cancellation. Rather inexpensive protection and so far I have had no noise spikes since installing. Still evaluating but it looks like the problem is solved.

    Sharp noise spike inflitrates audio

Funny you should mention Mig welding carts because that's just what a buddy of mine does for a living. He welds shopping carts. I did just go out and buy a Power backup and noise canceler. It may not help but at least when the power crashes they system wont.

    Problems with acoustic guitar mix

Multipressor???? Also try a standard EQ, or maybe off set the mic to the lower strings. Either way it's not easy and while you are playing and moving around, your recording ends up with fluctuation in volume. Also every tap of the foot and sniffle gets picked up as well. I'll never mic an...

    Sharp noise spike inflitrates audio

Forgive me. Once the spike is on the track, it is in the same position until removed or recorded over. I don't know why I stated it wasn't in the same spot. Sorry.

    Sharp noise spike inflitrates audio

That could be a major problem. Any ideas how to resolve it?

    Sharp noise spike inflitrates audio

If you can imagine being electrocuted for a split second, this is what the Spike sounds like. it has no tonal quality just a nasty ugly multi-electronic blip that cuts through everything.

    Sharp noise spike inflitrates audio

The CPU is barely working as it's only 9 raw tracks with no plugins on a quad core new IMAC 27. That said, all my cables are Mogami and in very good condition. Again the spike never occurs in the same spot and it's very random. It does not show a wave form, which is weird. I have had this happen...

    Problems with acoustic guitar mix

Personally I gave up on micing my acoustic guitar for recording. It never seems to work out correctly. Having to EQ the instrument later means it's tonal quality was not captured when recording. So, I solved this by purchasing the Aura Spectrum DI Imaging box and then I downloaded the images I...

Want to improve my singing, just purchased a new mic. Please leave feedback!

First decide what genre you want to sing in, then get pro lessons. You are clearly at the beginning stages of singing with no previous voice training. That said, get the training and then see if your voice can hold up to the competition. I'm not trying to be harsh on your ability. just so you...

Looking for some honest feedback on my singing

Agreed, vibrato and working on stronger high notes is in order. other than that your voice would be fine for solicitation to music library's and producers looking for songs. I only wish my voice was as nice as I have to hire out when I need something done that matters.

    Sharp noise spike inflitrates audio

Hello all. Last night on the vocal track, after recorded and being saved, out of nowhere a instantaneously ugly frequency noise spike, lasting a fraction of a second, audibly appears in the track. However it does not show up as a visual wave-form capable of deletion or manipulation. It's just...

My vocals stink and I know it.

Thank you for your response Dyermaker8. Your suggestions never occurred to me. I look into both options.

My vocals stink and I know it.

My vocals stink and I know it, but I can carry a tune. I add harmony's to cover up my lack of quality. My questions is; where is the best place online to find a vocalist who is willing to come over the house and sing on my original songs? Get a little gas money maybe a few beers. Someone I can...

    Composing bridges ???

I put a bridge into 90 percent of my songs. After 25 years it's second nature. A bridge is anything you want it to be. Something that compliments both verse and chorus while at the same time can take you out and back into the song. Done in a complimentary cord or the same cord with a different...

Whats a great DAW software for recording?

Years of recording experience on VS systems, I finally switched to Logic Pro. $200.00 bucks gets a good bang for the buck and it is extremely intuitive to use. Is it as good as a $1000.00 DAW?, I don't know and I don't care. For recording jingles, private songs and Cues for commercials, it works...

    I'm rather bummed

Adapters are one concern, but another issue cropped up. Only a small group of control and audio interface folks has complied to Yosemite 10.10. Mackie is dragging the rear ends making new drivers. I may just have to get the iMAC and store it until Mackie catches up.

    I'm rather bummed

I was two seconds away from pulling the trigger on Mackie 1220i Mackie Control Universe iMAC 27inch Logic Pro X All the rest of the gear I have from years of VS recording in my home studio. I look over the specs on the Apple product and find that both the iMAC and MAC Pro only have USB3 and...
