No audio coming from guitar input H (Tascam DP-24SD)

Yes, I've done all of that, for every input too.

No audio coming from guitar input H (Tascam DP-24SD)

It's the same thing with both types of cables. I'm not sure why it works with an adapter, but not with the cable unless it's partly plugged in. Oh, XLR works just fine btw...

No audio coming from guitar input H (Tascam DP-24SD)

The two cables I have coming out of my effects pedal are, but the cable going into the pedal (which is the cable I used a minute ago) is mono.

No audio coming from guitar input H (Tascam DP-24SD)

I just plugged my guitar directly in and I didn't get any sound. So I tried pulling the plug out a little and I get audio if I have it plugged in partially. Wonder why that's happening...

No audio coming from guitar input H (Tascam DP-24SD)

Basically what I'm talking about is that you don't hear the drums in the mix on channels A - G. I don't know what that's called, but the same thing happens if you have your headphones plugged in halfway. I tried different adapters. And yes, both the 1/8" cable and the 1/4" adapter are TRS.

No audio coming from guitar input H (Tascam DP-24SD)

Alright, so I tried it with the guitar switch on and off using my laptop again, and I got sound both ways. One other thing I noticed is that I only get some of the audio from every other channel except H. The same effect as when you have your headphone cable plugged in half way. But I know all...

No audio coming from guitar input H (Tascam DP-24SD)

I just plugged up my laptop to play audio out into the channel, and I'm getting signal just fine. Also I noticed a minute ago that when I remove the cable, the pop is audible. So why not my guitar pedal? It works for every other channel, with and without the pedal (guitar directly into the...

No audio coming from guitar input H (Tascam DP-24SD)

I have the trim set half-way. I turned it all the way up to see if the OL light would come on, but it didn't. I have my guitar plugged up to my multi effects pedal, at line level btw. The faders are up, the REC button is engaged, and the channel is properly assigned.

No audio coming from guitar input H (Tascam DP-24SD)

Thanks for the reply! However, I have tried plugging in directly with the guitar setting switched on, then off to line. No sound. I then plugged in my multi effects pedal to it and the same thing happened.

No audio coming from guitar input H (Tascam DP-24SD)

Upon further inspection, I found that I can get signal from every other input except H. Do I have a dead channel?

No audio coming from guitar input H (Tascam DP-24SD)

Hey everyone, I just received my DP-24 today, and when I went to plug in my guitar and start recording, I could not get any sound out of it. Now I've already looked through threads about this issue, but nothing has seemed to help. I updated the firmware to the latest version (1.01 0008 or...

    Tascam 488 question

Quick question... Do the MKI and MKII share the same heads? I'm thinking of buying a cheap broken 488 to salvage its heads because I need to replace the heads on my MKII.

    Tascam 488 MKII problem

I do know a few people who are more handy with this type of stuff, electronics wise. I could have them look into that a bit more. You've helped me get a clearer idea of what could be wrong with it. I'd like to think it's not permanent damage, nor expensive to fix if I do have someone else get...

    Tascam 488 MKII problem

I saw this thread a while back when my 414 started eating tapes. Still never fixed it... I really appreciate the help you've given me so far, but I really don't want to risk opening up the recorder. I could easily damage it due to my lack of knowledge as far as electronics go. Any other thoughts?

    Tascam 488 MKII problem

Like I said, when I cleaned the heads earlier, nothing appeared on the q tip. I can try cleaning them again for a little longer, but I don't see that fixing anything. I feel like the issue could be more pointed in the direction of the last two in your list of speculation as I've tried cleaning...

    Tascam 488 MKII problem

I tried recording a test signal (a single note from a synth lead in my daw) and recorded it at the same level across the recorder, and I noticed that channels 4 and 5 were much weaker than the rest of the channels. Channel 3 was just slightly weaker than the others, but not by much. There was...

    Tascam 488 MKII problem

I cleaned the heads for about 5 minutes, both the record play heads and the erase head, but nothing came up on the q tip. No black debris. Does this mean the heads are clean, or does it mean I'm improperly cleaning the recorder?

    Tascam 488 MKII problem

Thanks for the quick response! I cleaned the heads a week ago when I got it. I used 91% alcohol and q tips. I should mention that there seemed to be (although I'm not sure if it actually was) corrosion on the right head of the split heads. I'm guessing that's the play head, so that'd have no...

    Tascam 488 MKII problem

Hi, I recently bought a 488 MKII from a friend of mine, and I'm having some issues recording on channels 4 and 5. I'm assuming it could be an erase head issue... I say that because I can record audio onto those channels on a clean tape. But if there is audio on its channel(s) and I attempt to...

Problem with Tascam 414 MK 1

I posted this in the Tascam forum, but alas, no response. Maybe someone here could help me. To keep it short, the take up spool does not move when I press play (it just started doing this earlier tonight) but it does move when I press fast forward. Another thing to mention is that the capstan...
