Alright than, fellas. Thank you a thousand for your advice and guidance, they've helped alot. I'll definitely keep the suggestions in my head, and whenever I need some help, I'll be up here. Thanks again, guys! :D
The question is fairly simple. I will have 14 microphones recording my drum kit, yes, 14, because it's a fairly large kit. I realized I don't need two pairs of overheads, or do I? I will record the drums into my ZED mixer, and along with drums, I'll also record rhythm and lead guitar, bass and...
I can't accept just a single track because I'm also recording rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass and vocals. All in all, five tracks.
Do you know how I can send my drum track into aux 1, rhythm into aux 2 etc.?
Hey guys,
I'm looking to record some drums, and I'll need 16 mics for that purpose, here's my planned setup:
Mics > ZED-436 > Direct Outs > Interface
Now here's the problem, how do I send 16 direct outs into one interface input? Witha patchbay or what?
Thanks,
Thomas
How do you mean? Let's say I use 16 mics for the drums, and in Logic I want these 16 mics to be one track for the drums. Than I have three mics for rhythm guitar, and three for lead, these are than two separate tracks. Than, along with the drum track, I will have three tracks, am I right?
Greetings, boys and girl.
I am here with a simple question. I finally saved up enough to buy myself the Allen & Heath ZED-436, and I'm wondering, will I need an audio interface to record it into my iMac 21.5" since the ZED has a USB connection.
Thank you all,
Thomas
Hey, guys! My name's Thomas, and I'm a confuzed teen with ringing ears, and heavy metal playing all day long. I am working on my latest concept, which is building my own studio, well, a smaller sized studio. Cheers!
Alright than, guys! Thank you a thousand for your tremendous help! What you're saying is that, it's not worth buying the Behringer since the pres in the ZED are better than the Behringer's?
The Oktava MK 012-01 you mean?
Anyhow, since the Oktavas aren't too expensive, I can use them along with the NT5, right?
A quick question, I'll be using the China a dozen times, would it be alright if I miked the China up, too?
Well, yeah. Honestly, I don't even know what ADAT is or does. I figured that the ADA8000 would be a good pre. It has eight channels, it has beyond good reviews and it's cost effective.
I wanted to mic each cymbal, yeah, along with the overheads. Lars Ulrich does that, too, and I'm a tremendous...
Greetings,
I'm currently experiencing one of those sleepless nights, thinking whether an ADA8000 and a dbx Quad Gate would do a not good, but a great job recording drums.
I still don't have my kit purchased, mics, too, but I know my setup.
