    Connecting amp/speakers to pc

Tried it with the rca and power cables as far from each other as I could have them, still the same. Worked fine when I hooked it up to the dvd player. Could it be interference from the pc? Is there any way I can shield them better, or is it a case of buying new cables?

    Connecting amp/speakers to pc

Yeah USB from pc. Turned the Mixer all the way to the right, and turned the Monitor all the way up, and that helped with the volume a bit. Seems odd I'd have to have them both maxed just to get usable volume though... Is the Aux the right input on the amp? And are my cables correct? I'm not...

    Connecting amp/speakers to pc

In short- I've got a saffire 6 interface, a tangent amp-100 amp and a set of bookshelf speakers. Saffire connected to pc (obviously), speakers connected to amp and cambridge audio 100 series phono cables from saffire 1&2 outputs to the amp AUX1. Problem is the sound is really really quiet...

    Budget monitors/headphones

Last piece of advice, I promise! I got my hands on some free speakers today (long story) which may or may not be any good. But they were free, and free is good when you're skint. They're Eltax Millenium 100's and I'm wondering if the Tripath amp will be ok to power them. Details: Music Power...

    Budget monitors/headphones

Juan, thank you for the help- really really appreciated! Unfortunately I'm in the UK and the speakers you mentioned aren't available from anywhere that I can find, and the amp comes in at nearly twice the price in £ as it is in $. Damn country >.> Have been looking at Acoustic Solutions...

    Budget monitors/headphones

Thanks for the feedback. If it helps at all, the rest of the setup: SM58 Saffire 6 My PC (Win7 32bit, Phenom II x4 @ 3.4GHz, 4gb RAM) running Reaper Looking at Sennheiser HD201 & Sony MDR-V150 just now...would be happy to get them AND some speakers, seeing as their cheap. Would a set of hifi...

    Budget monitors/headphones

This is the final part I need for the mini studio set-up I'm putting together for Xmas for my better half. I've already overspent, so I really need this to be as cheap as is humanly possible, without sounding like absolute %$£^. I'm not expecting anything spectacular, just something ok enough...

Looking to set up home recording, no idea where to start...

Nah it's (hopefully) the start of her getting back into her music; she needs to record some half-decent sounding demos to send out. Having said that, depending on how this months budget goes I might pick up a USB mic just now and get the better stuff next month. Everything depends on money, and...

Looking to set up home recording, no idea where to start...

M-Audio looks like the winner + the SM58. Does it come with software or does that need to be bought separately? Again just need something dead simple. Sorry for being so useless & clueless, your help is very much appreciated. Edit: because I'm stupid and just checked with DAW stands for ;)...

Looking to set up home recording, no idea where to start...

Preferably not more than £100, but that's assuming I can pick up the mic cheap on ebay- got my eye on one at the moment that shouldn't be much over £40. Edit: OK I'm learning slowly- M-Audio comes with an interface, whereas ART doesn't and would need that extra...am I right? In that case I'll...

Looking to set up home recording, no idea where to start...

M-audio slightly out of my price range for now unfortunately. I know I'm not going to be able to do anything amazing though in my budget so I'm not looking for miracles. Whats the ART Tube MP like for performance/utility since it looks to be about the price I'm wanting for just now. Ideally...

Looking to set up home recording, no idea where to start...

It'll be mostly vocals for just now, and she doesn't know anything about the tech side of it, or have anything already- this is me giving her a kick up the rear end to get going on her music again after moving away from home! Can you rec any audio interface's for me to look in to? Also in...

Looking to set up home recording, no idea where to start...

Hey, I'm looking to get a home recording set up as a surprise for my girlfriend but I have literally no idea where to start other than the fact I have a decent pc already. So far I've ascertained that I need to get a mic (duh) & a preamp, but I've got no idea what else, or even which mic etc...
