How long ago did Alesis discontinue the HD24 and HD24XR ?

I'm just curious since I just bought a XR off ebay. I bought a HD24 back around 2000 or 2001 for $2000 if I remember right. After computer recording took off didn't keep up on these old school recorders and when they got phased out. Mine sat for probably 15 years and then got back into...

    Lexicon MPX1 vs MPX500

Trying to decide between the Lexicon MPX1 and MPX500. From what I understand the MPX 1 lets you run a number of multi effects, where as the MPX 500 only preset groups two at a time like delay and chorus, or reverb and flange. Seems like the MPX one would allow more flexibility. I don't think...

    Rolls direct box

Has anyone ever used a Rolls Red square direct box? I need something to split the signal for my bass and this thing will do it and is supposed to have a by-passable *sonic exciter* that is supposed to define the signal somewhat. I don't really like too many effects, but the box has a 1/4 in...

Keith Moon, Ian Paice.....it is all about Style!

Keith moon has such a cool style unlike anything I have ever heard. I was listening to The Who, Live at Leeds...young man's blues, and Moon was just going nuts. I like that on the edge of control, yet totally in control sound. I also think that Ian Paice of Deep Purple is way under rated. He...

Roland SRV3030D.....as good as a Lexicon?

How does the Roland SRV3030D compare with the Lexicon stuff, like a MPX500? I do know that the Lexicon sucks as far as programming goes, but quality of sound is pretty good. Does anyone here use and like the Roland? Tnx

    Best Drummer=Neil Peart Hands Down!!

Yeah, Neil Peart is completely, technically awesome, but... I like the feel and the style of Ian Gillian of Deep Purple....especially the stuff that they did in the 70s.

    Sigh.....When will they ever learn?

Mix-itG I can tell you that the factory supplied HD is more prone to the vibration problems than some of the other brands. I bought an IBM HD and haven't had any problems with it. The error that occurs reads; underflow error, HD too slow. Alesis said that it possibly could be a defective...

    Sigh.....When will they ever learn?

Mix-itG You are going to love the HD24! I can't say it is flawless, but I have used mine for a month and it is even more than I had hoped for in both sound quality and ease of use. All of the controls and funtions are very well thought out, especially the editing.....totally seemless punches...

    Sigh.....When will they ever learn?

Mix-itG... Yeah, like I already did apologize to the sonusdude early on in the "question" post, only to see a rash of shit from him....like, what's up with that? ....my fault too for keeping it going.... Whether he knows a lot about recording or not, he might consider working on his people...

    Sigh.....When will they ever learn?

Thanks Bruce for the advice, but... Ed does not impress me with enough knowledge to catch my attention or respect. By degrading everyone who doesn't agree with him and down playing products that he doesn't own, he certainly seems to have a deep rooted unprofessionalism about him. I do pay...

    Question...

Sonus, my man,... I am perfectly willing to get along. It seems you are the one who is knocking everybodys Alesis gear. Just back up a few posts and see for yourself. I would even accept all your whining if you had a valid point and knew what you were talking about. If you like to knock...

    Sigh.....When will they ever learn?

Ed my man I admire you and think you are the greatest. I was wondering if I could like worship YOU on Sunday morning instead of "GOD" ...i mean, you ARE on the same or even a higher level right? ok well that being said, i really hate to correct someone as worthy as you, but i don't think...

    Sigh.....When will they ever learn?

ohhh, I guess tascam will do if you just want to get a basic idea down.....sort of a neat little toy. ...didn't mean to piss you off Wide. 76 is the number of recording studios that I own. We typically throw out all our Tascams that break down back in the dumpster. I can save some for you...

Roland V-drums vs Acoustic kit ...on tape

I tried out some Rolands with the TD10 module The TD10 cymbal sounds are much better and realistic IMO than the earlier versions....I can't really say I spent much time playing the TD-8...that wasn't bad, but the TD 10 may be worth checking out for recording purposes.

    Sigh.....When will they ever learn?

Your obviously pissed that you were too stupid... to buy one and instead bought the Tascam!!.... aaahahhhhh HahAhahha haa HAAhha ....what a dumb-ass. dude, cheer up, you can always save up from your paper route and buy one later on if you think you are bright enough to figure it out.

    Question...

sonusman... ...you are cracking me up.... but in a boring sort of way .... it's rather humorous to see someone who thinks and speaks so highly of themselves. ...such an imagination! you're rather transparent and I can see right through you. I wish you well and hope that you someday become...
