Matching speakers for small club events

Thanks MJ. The rooms will be variable and I think I'll be expanding soon so was getting the 15" but I wasn't aware there were 12's, lol. Now I'll be looking at them. :)

Matching speakers for small club events

Thanks Chili. The 15's are looking good and like gecko suggested I'll just knock a little off the gain.

Matching speakers for small club events

What would be a better match for an EON 500w subwoofer; an EON510, 280 watt with a 10 inch speaker and a crossover of 1.6kHz or a Eon 515, 450 watts with a 15 inch speaker and a crossover of 2.2kHz? I appreciate the expertise! Currently it's just for an acoustic duo but I'd like to leave room...

    Solo acts need subs too!

I've been fortunate enough to be able to add a sub to my PA system which I use to practice doing solo acoustic guitar gigs. My system sounds awesome but when I go do gigs on other PA's without subs, I'm now having a problem with frequency response in my vocals and guitar. There are gaps in the...

Did you get to meet a dude named Herb with a black cowboy hat ( a solo performer)?

Removing sounds already in the mix

Anyone tried Spectral Layers Pro? I watched a seminar on it and it the dude was able to remove background engine hum, breaking, water running and numerous other sounds already in the mix. Pretty awesome what you can do with it.

    What works for you?

Thanks, sounds like you've been there too. This week I took all of the effects off the monitors(turns out there was a little verb in the monitor already) and used very little for the FOH. I started off with very low volume. To do that I had to turn down the volume for the condensor mic. I...

    What works for you?

The music is for listening and the structure is to feed and entertain homeless folks. Changing how that works is not an option for me but I'm thinking there's gotta be a way to find that same groove there is when the background noise is low. So I take it you don't use reverb in the monitors...

    What works for you?

I play for a community dinner every week (large hall) and lots of time the background noise gets pretty loud, kids running around and conversations etc... I try to keep the volume just loud enough to mix in with the natural volume of my acoustic guitar and my big mouth, (I barely need a mic). I...

What happens when you shift from ELECTRONIC music to ACOUSTIC

Sorry Sarge but I don't see the switch. Still sounds electronic to me. A rose by any other name ...

    What's a good preamp for an SM7b?

Thanks for all the great responses. I'm still not sure what the best fit is. If I had the cloud would that allow the ability to use the pre's on mixer boards with the SM7b?

    What's a good preamp for an SM7b?

I just got my first sm7 and the preamps on the tascam neo I use don't seem strong enough. I have a few hundred bucks to invest in a pre, used preferably. Anyone real happy with a particular match with the sm7? thanks as always...

    What are some good books?

Probably the most ignored credible books to read are your equipment manuals. If you ace on them, then download and read some manuals for equipment that would be an upgrade for you. Preparing for your future will help you with your present.

recording in a living room or basement/garage

Record the vocals in the living room. Everything else in the basement but add some bass traps.

Are there standards for mastering audio to be played with video on cell phones?

Yeah I noticed that too but thought it was lag, lol, I'm totally new to video. I guess it's something to do with the way youtube handles mp4's. I just edited it with youtube's stabilize button and it seems better but it takes awhile for the edit to get posted.
