    Maybe time for big changes

Super sorry to hear that Sweetbeats, tough changes for sure. I really don't think you should sell it, but if you decide to, I certainly would be interested in the BR-20, don't know if it's in my budget right now, but that would look real nice with my 48-8. Also would be curious about the...

Do the built-in pre's on a TASCAM 388 have enough 'Va-Va-Voom' to power the SM7b?

Wow, I'll have to check out the ev mic, I have seen them around and been curious, so I may just pick one up. There really some gems out there, I'm always on the look out. Kelley Stoltz is such fantastic writer, cool that you know him, and to hear he is a good dude. Was so happy to discover his...

Do the built-in pre's on a TASCAM 388 have enough 'Va-Va-Voom' to power the SM7b?

This is a rough mix of a demo, I recently did (can't wait to record there full record, cool band). But I did the basic tracks on a 388(my last recording on my 388, as I recently sold it, and picked up better console, and a Tascam 42 YAY!). But the vocals were recorded on the 388, with my SM 7B...

Do the built-in pre's on a TASCAM 388 have enough 'Va-Va-Voom' to power the SM7b?

Well, my other desert island mic is a sm57. I have plenty of higher end, pricier mics, tube mics, a couple ribbons, plenty of condensers......I use the sm7b more then any other mic, and on any source. It kind of is a glorified 57, but a much fuller sound, deeper low, and more extended high end...

Do the built-in pre's on a TASCAM 388 have enough 'Va-Va-Voom' to power the SM7b?

You have to crank it on some sources, but there is enough. Good mic choice by the way, if I had to keep only one microphone for the rest of my life it would without a doubt be my sm7b.

    ATR Service in Portland Oregon?

Condor electronics in Seattle. Tascam certified, and they are good. They take FOREVVVVERRR, though.

Opinion on the condition of this Tascam 388?

I owned one for about 4 years, and recently sold it. I took it to a professional to have some work done when I first bought it. I then kept my eye open for parts(channel pcbs, bios pcb etc) as they are very easy to find. Was able to fix problems quickly and cheaply by swapping out parts. So if...

    Tascam 32, 34, 38 and 42,48 rack ears

So I made a little mistake in ordering rack ears for my 48-ob, thinking it used the same as the 38, I was a bit too hasty.....feeling really dumb. I thought I may be able to re-drill to match holes, but I then got confused, due to the "angle rack kit" title of the 48 rack ears, and the different...

    Tascam TSR-8 Vs Tascam 48-ob

Interesting.....hmmm. My dream guitar for two decades has been a true Les Paul, but these days, with a house payment, and growing obsession with recording, it seems farther out of reach, so this is an intriguing option. Thanks, something to ponder!

    Sansui RA-500 Story...

These old home stereo reverbs from the 70's are pretty fun to play with. I had an old pioneer for a while, borrowed from my friend actually, it was very poinky, and was fun to use as an odd effect once in a while, probably wasn't working right honestly. This one sounds like it's a little more...

    Tascam TSR-8 Vs Tascam 48-ob

I work next to a really great hardware store, that specializes in hardware, so shouldn't be an issue. I just ordered one on amazon, $80, free shipping (prime membership is real handy). That looks pretty nice with the 58 in it, I'm glad I started looking for something as an alternative to the...

This one has got Flower Pot guy beat.

Do these folks ever even sell stuff? I guess occasionally you have a desperate, and/or super wealthy buyer who doesn't care about cost, but jeeze. What's the point of putting things up when you rarely ever make a sale? Would love to have a portastudio 244 at some point, but you could buy a...

    Tascam TSR-8 Vs Tascam 48-ob

Cool, good to know! I don't want wobbly, that's for sure. Well and Hosa makes some pretty cheap stuff, handy because it's cheap, but doesn't hold up too well, because it's cheap! Thanks, that helps allot!

    Tascam TSR-8 Vs Tascam 48-ob

Or this? Hosa RMT-152 | Sweetwater.com Seem like it would be better as it is attached at the base in the middle, which I would think put less stress on the welds.
