Hello,
I have a small digital recorder, but it doesn't Master well
enough to even be called mastered.
My c.d. is all acoustical instruments and I don't expect to
sell very many, but I wish to make a few more c.d.'s too.
If I pay to have each one Mastered by a professional,
it seems like a waste...
I keep doing the math...it doesn't work out for short-run's either way. I guess I am counting in the cost of my home recording
equip. too. I don't expect to earn much, but I keep coming out
$2000-$4000 short for 3 little c.d.'s selling 150 copies each.
HOW DO YOU GUYS DO IT????? (I know, sell...
Hi, Someone just mentioned MyPlanet for cheap cd
duplication. I looked thru their site but they were pushing the 1000 cd's package.
I only need 200 to start. It looks like DiscMakers would
be cheapter, if I had the cover printed on a Copier and
just bought the Jewel cases and put them in...
Ha ha ha, for asking.
I was fired cause the couple that own the band say I was insulting and abusive. It had nothing to do with my playing.
I am 57 and certainly no threat, but she acted like she just didn't want me being around her 34-yr-old husband. ha ha ha,
their loss, right!
So now I need...
Hi,
I just got fired from the band I had benn in for 3 years. So now I am recording a few c.d.'s on my own.
Has any one had any luck with CD Baby or CDStreet? When I go into their sites, it seems you need to know the name of an
artist or a c.d. title to actually find what you want to hear.
How...
I have a BR1180cd Digital home recording studio.
I am just about done mixing and have tried Mastering, but
I don't hear that "dramatic difference" that the Professionals
who advertise their Mastering Studios claim they can give a c.d.
Are these little $1000 units REALLY good enough?

I have just purchased my first Digital Home Recording Studio
(a BR1180cd).
I will only be recording PennyWhistles and Recorders with
a mic, and using keyboard sounds for the backing tracks.
I haven't bought any Mixing Monitor/Speakers yet.
What is my best choice for this simple project?
Thanks,Lolly
O.K., but WHY do you all suggest using the COMPUTER for
recording. FOr a newbie, should't we be using something
simple? This all sounds way too hard for this newbie...i.e.
I'm a musician, not an electrician!
Wouldn't a -------? be easier?

Is the BR-8 really the way to start learning how to record?
I will be using only a keyboard and one acoustic instrument.
(I tried n-track on my computer and couldn't understand it....
I'm an old lady and want something I can learn easily).
Thanks
Well, Thanks Tom, I looked at what you said to look at
and I think I see everything looking o.k. but I still don't hear a playback. It has to be one stupid little check-mark somewhere,
doesn't it!
lolly
Help! This old-lady newbie has just downloaded n-track and
plugged in her mic, and pre-amp and clicked that the Recording
level and the In-Line volumes are o.k. on the computer.
I talk into the mic and I hear it just fine; and the red recording
scribble looks good and when I play it back the...
Hi all,
Am I correct in thinking that this product is better than the BR-8
because it records on a hard drive and not a Zip disk?
Has anyone bought one of these yet? I see Musician's Friend
has them for under $1000. I need to get recording soon,
please adivse

Hello,
I use an Audix headhead mic on stage and it works great
plugged into the mixer with the phantom power switched on.
I play the Pennywhistle with a harpest so I need a sweet
sound with re-verb.
Now I would like to buy a little pre-amp for plugging into
my computer or a little portable...
Hi,
I need to purchase 2 mics.
One, a headset for playing Penny WHistle on stage (so I
can move and not have to stand perfectly still for hours)
#2 for recording a c.d.
I'm a newbie, please help
Thats what I was afraid of...so which sampler would you
recommend I at least go out and listen to? Maybe I could
substitute other instruments, perhaps ones with keyboards,
instead of the ones I have chosen, and still have a good mix.

Hello,
Last week I asked about keyboards and BR-8 units and we
had a nice discussion about Salesmen. Well, after looking at
things in the state of Or. I discovered that NO keyboard I was shown, sounded like a harp, a bagpipe or a "fiddle".
These sounds MUST sound like real instruments on my...
Hi all,
Well, I am going to Oregon this weekend to finish recording our band album and I will see what is for sale in the music stores
up there. I believe I WILL get the Boss BR-8 for recording and
the Roland X30 keyboard for the backing tracks, unless
a different salesman or two, can show me...
O.K., about a keyboard:
As I said, I need a realistic sound for Celtic/Irish instruments.
The salesman just said the Roland Keyboards were best
for recording...he didn't even give me a # or price, but I
presume for about $1000 I could get one that sounded
like a harp...
