I'd bet the CS8 unit requires a PC, like the Mackie unit. Cool tech, that I have come very close to buying more than once... That MIDI only unit looks cool. Capture, and then playback those MIDI files in the same session... perfection.

Could the display portion just not be connected properly? I'd open it back up and just have a good, slow, look 'round to see if something was crimped, cut, or wiggled loose.

Yes please! I too have a TSR-8, which I love. I'd love to hear how you tracked and mixed the project. Was the TSR-8 a 'pass through' on the way to the DAW? Or, did you complete the project all on the analog side and them capture the final mix digitally?

I'm sure there are no directions, but it's pretty easy. You'll see it in there when you pull a fader bank out of the M3700. It has two small screws that you'll need to undo and then unplug the cables from both ends. Easy to do, just time consuming when you have 32+1+8 of them to do :)
