maybe im not so familiar with the original hardware version, but it seems to me that the compressor ratio is going upside down. when i put it on 10, it does the lowest amount of compression, and when i dial in 4 it does more, and 2:1 does the biggest amount of compression.

im using pro tools 10 for mixing and mastering.
im exporting the final mix as multiple-mono file (2 mono files, for L and R, if you dont know..), and importing that into my mastering session.
there is goes from 2 mono tracks, to a stereo master bus, on which i do all the processing...
if im working on a song from start to finish, on a 24bit project, recording 24bit audio files through my able sound card, using high quality plugins and midi instruments, bouncing down to a 24bit wave stereo file for mastering, and then going through the mastering phase with the same 24bit...
