    Should I ditch the Fostex!

Thanks, for the Post guinsu The X-26 is an older machine they don't have it on the Fostex website because it came out in 1988, it was a middle of the road model so I figured the sound quality should be better. I am also compaing it to lesser machines, I have used a Porta 3 with much better...

    Should I ditch the Fostex?

    Should I ditch the Fostex!

I haven't been spoiled by Digital. I have been trying to compare apples to apples, I have used a Tascam porta 3 a few years ago, some guys I have jammed with have a 414 and my guitar teach has an old porta 5. All of which sound better than the Fostex. I have no tape flutter or anything like...

    414mkII Questions.

Record the drums and guitar or bass at the same time. The 414 will record 4 tracks at once. A seperate track for each you can bounce down to one later then add the rest. If you record guitar then drums your playing will be off no matter how good you are. E

I get a jump in the tape right after the drum intro when the guitar comes in. Just like a quick but noticable pause, and the more tracks I add the long...

I have $600 and want to Build a DAW

I have heard a few problems with the core 2 so I may go SB route or Turtle Beach. I don't know any others That will be around $100-$200. As for the computer Cakewalk runs fine on the 133, but I only do 30 second loops and to jam with. I really don't think I can do much direct recording with it...
