    Annoying sounds

I don't get it. That last two recordings I've done on acoustic guitar I'm getting these little noises that I could not have made on my guitar. The first sounded like a harmonica whistle, no way a guitar could make that noise. And now tonight I get what sounds like a metronome click? What gives...

    Strange Echo

this is the error I'm talking about and when I increase the buffer size Its sounds like there's an echo when I record. Any suggestions to fix this so that it's accepatble during both recording and mixing?

    Strange Echo

Well to me it's delayed. I had my headphones on, and as I played my acoustic guitar, the notes I played blurred together

    Strange Echo

PT 8, with a MBOX mini. I've done a good bit of recording with the same setup and this hasn't happen before. It must be something I've changed inadvertantly doing some mixing

    Strange Echo

I went to lay down a guitar trac tonight, no effects, nothing, just a plain trac. When I hit the record button I noticed I had an echo that makes it virtually impossible the hear yourself play. I have been fooling with the configs recently and might have done some I shouldn't have. Any ideas? Scott

okay, so I unpacked the mixer and started looking at it and from the manual it wasn't clear to me which insert to run the cable from the mixer to my PT interface. Can anyone help it's a yamaha mg102c mixer if you can't see from the image.

    Cables and Such

I think the "spaghetti" factor is a bit of and issue. The cables I have are like 12' or something. I may just buy new balanced cables that are 2m Thanks for the help all

    Cables and Such

I'm using a yamaha mixer that has compression. I'm a novice at recording and I never liked the compression plug ins PT had. So I'm trying this. So the setup is mic to XLR on mixer, TRS mixer to TRS interface

I'm recording from a condenser mic, > xlr input on my mixer > my pro-tools interface > laptop. What is the best type connection to use from the mixer to the interface? And does the cord length matter? Scott

    usb interface

And another thing, I used to get good results on analog recorders mixing down. How do use an external compressor using PT in the mix down?
  19. S

    usb interface

Well I might not be using the PT compressors correctly, but I see a lot of my peaks chopped off.

    usb interface

Not sure if this is the correct forum but here goes. I have a pro-tools set-up with the Mbox2 interface. I was never very happy with the compression offered in the pro-tools software so I'm looking at purchasing a Yamaha mixer that has compression like the yamaha MG82CX. My question is this...
