I have this B&K tape recorder in service over 6 months and the guy who`s trying to give it a second life stuck without service manual. My kind letter to B&K office no response so far. Any ideas are more than welcome!!

Absolutely correct , it`s a local deal. There`s some number of Studers, Revox, Fostex etc reel-to-reel recorders spinning around on the second hand market here. Where do they all came from? From the past:) 50 % are TV, broadcasting ex gear, still keeping in the basements of their offices.

As I mentioned above, any opinion is more than welcome. I`ll think twice before getting 22-4.

I`ve tried to record a track on it - the quality is bloody good. :) Very professional recorder. And for nothing. Highly recommended.

Tape Speed is 38.1 mm/s or 381. My recorder has no adaptor (lost!) hence I couldn`t do any experiments at the moment, unpatiently waiting to get it fixed

Look at this! I swap this recorder in mint non-used condition for some bargain last night. Is it any good for home recording?

Also the seller mentioned one well known person this Tascam used to belong. That person 10 years ago joined to majority and the seller keeps few personal effects in lovely memory of him and Tascam, the dust collector, is one of them but going to be sold. Tomorrow I`ll come and check its working...

Well... Is Tascam 234 a good machine to play with? I called to owner and he says it was in perfect condition 5 years ago when he plug it last time. The price of T234 is more than attractive, 150 usd. What the community thinks about this piece of gear?

Once I was in 5 sec away from purchase of Tascam 388.You know what kills me? The weight! It was heavy so I didn`t manage to carry it. I took a couple of pics just in case and later bought Tascam 688. The price for 388 monster was around 1200 usd btw.

If you have two of 688 you should be a guru at least. :)Very simple question about the type cassete. I was told to use Type 2 Chrome only. Is it truth?

Hello everyone ! I have a Tascam Midistuduo 688. I use it as a mixer (and that`s a very good mixer!), `cause there`s smth wrong with cassete. I`ll repair it for sure in 2 weeks time. The question is Does anyone have any exp with it as a recorder? I would be pleased to hear a good or bad word...
