    need usb interface

This is a super newbie type post here. I have always used my Delta 1010, but the computer got fried recently. I'm going to do the USB interface thing now. What would be the cheapest USB interface that would be at least as good as the Delta sound card? I have one of those Behringer (he he) ones...

Just throw it up & see if it sticks...

I have been frequenting a lot of concerts lately with my 16 year old daughter. I'm seeing a ton of bands doing the same ole thing right now. Just like the big hair band days of yester-year they are simply cashing in on what's hip. (same with the billionaire guy who invented those 1 cent wrist...

    can't get a good sound P90

OK I have this Crafter guitar. Basically a Taylor T5 copy. The acoustic pickup is spectacular sounding. The electric..not so much. It's a Kent Armstrong P90 in the neck position. It does sound good if you like the warm soft tone, but what I want is a bit more bite and a little crisper high end...

How do you get published for radio play?

No snickering here, but I really feel I have a song good enough for radio play. Maybe the only "hit" I've even made. How does one get music (or just one song) published so it can get radio play (assuming a station would WANT to play it??? My song...

    vocals terminology...

I'm close, but still can't get the vocal sound that you might hear on modern radio hits. I read about a 'term", a name for the sound. Does anyone know what it is? Characteristics: *Clear, yet distorted *breaths are as loud as sung notes *lots of "air" or high frequency sibilance *sounds thin...

Biggest reason for music biz crash???

I hear a lot of people talk about the "3 years ago" thing citing the recession. I'm just not seeing the recession being the problem. Having teen age kids and knowing their friends I would have to say the #1 reason is kids STEALING music off of P2P sites. I don't allow those programs on my...

    Rhyming lyrics

about 99% of all songs have rhyming lyrics. I have always been a fan of Perry Farrell (Jane's Addiction, Porno For Pyros, Solo) and he has this strange ability to make lyrics work in a song when nothing rhymes. He is a master at melody. You would do yourself a favor as a writer to at least...

    Jack backwards

Most great songs start with a great melody. Then music and beats are added later. I have decided to make a CD jack backwards and it is turning out pretty nice if I say so myself. I am experimenting with new styles, so some of you just won't like it. I start with the drum beat, then add guitars...

    Morpheus

I got the morpheus drop tone effect. It's a novel idea and most people will be satisfied with it, but from a pro, you'd better pass. It's a tone sucker and a volume sucker. I saw a you tube video that sold me on it, but in the real world it didn't work out so well. There is also a slight delay...

    Want Killer vocals?

Man I LOVE my TC Helicon Harmony G effect unit! It does verb, delay, chorus, compression, ect, but the fabulous thing is the harmonies. I had both Digitechs and this thing blows them all away. The harmonies are crystal clear. You can have 1 or 2 at a time. It is really foolproof also, as you...

Awesome drink for singer & speakers

This stuff is great. Really works. Smooths out the voice, gives you extra control, tone and smoothness. (I don't sell it or work for them) PS dont get the mint flavor...nasty. http://www.drinkvocal.com/

best way to record distorted vox

I would like to know the BEST way to record distorted vocals. Like fuzzed out tone, yet intelligible. Should I use a basic vocal track and effect it or start off with the sound with let's say a green bullet mic? Please respond if you have done this before. It's not as easy as just adding...

    EZ Drummer & Sonar question...

I bought EZ drummer and simple CANNOT get SONAR to recognize it. Toontrack says to to go Sonar's "global" settings and point Sonar to the EZ drummer under VST settings. Only problem...NO VST options anywhere. (PS this is SONAR 2) Toontrack can't get it resolved, cakewalk won't answer my query...
