Anyone try the new Telefunken M80???

$200 for a Telefunken mic? Sounds too good to be true. Anyone try one yet? Opinions?

Need a small tube amp. Should I get a Blackstar HT-1 for my studio?

Yes it does, but perhaps thats not the tone OP is going for. If so, fine, but the SCXD has way more tonal options. And here is a trick to coax the tube tone out of one: Get yourself a really decent low gain OD pedal.(Timmy, SHOD, Ecstacy, ect) and set the gain low and the volume high. That will...

    Couple of Les Paul questions...

Just don't use WD40 or anything like that. It will collect dust and get all gunky inside. Note for others. Obviously you got the right stuff.

Anyone try Blue's new SPARK mic yet...

My bad. Its a lame thread. It would be nice if people only responded who actually HAVE one and know what they are talking about,

Anyone try Blue's new SPARK mic yet...

Love the Bluebird as you all know. Curious about the newly introduced SPARK. $100 cheaper than the Bluebird. Just wondering.

    Clean Tube Amp Head

The Fender Super Champ XD is like that. There is a "preamp" tube, but its really just a phase inverter. Yet this amp scores big on the Fender clean chime. The bandmaster..........not so much. I use on at rehearsal. I don't own it, but Im familiar. Its got more of a rounded 60's tubey tone. I...

    Resonators: Spider vs. biscuit

The bisquit style is much more pleasing to the ears. Imagine putting an acoustic guitar through an EQ pedal and slamming one of the mid sliders. You would get this nasally tone. Thats what a spider reso sounds like. Its cool for adding a few little slide licks to a song, but thats about it.

how the heck do i choose an electric guitar pickup? there's 75 kinds

Does the strat have a single bridge pup or a 'bucker? Les Paulish and less hum??? You want a humbucker. For singles, you might like the Hot Rails. For buckers, the sky is the limit. Since your request is not too extreme, try getting a used one pulled from another guitar. Just because it was...

    Clean Tube Amp Head

A Vox AC 30 also has really nice cleans, but for me the Fender amps rule the clean roost.

    Guitar amp poll

This whole poll is whack because of the vastness of models and the sound one is going for. There is also the fact to consider that certain guitars will sound good through one amp and not another. Dirt pedals really skew the data. It's also a fact that amp owners will defend their amps to the...

    Home-Studio Amp

My vote is for the Fender Super Champ XD. Its all tube and can do about every tone you want. Too many amps are one trick pony's. I should know, I have had a ton. For $300 new it's a steal.

The Strat - fashion vs function

80's MIJ strats are among some of the best ever made. Having said that, remember there are lemons of all models in all years. Never buy a guitar without first playing it.

    can ANYONE learn to sing?

If you are serious, get the Brett Manning vocal course. He's a real pro and the CD program is worth every penny.

    any ultra cheap bass recommendations

I can vouch for the SX guitars and basses. I have both (along with upper end axe's) The builds are really good. WAY better than a Squier. You may want to swap out electronics, but you cant to wrong. Look here: Rondo Music Home Page

vox valvetronix vt20+ or fender mustang1

Well the Direct Out sound is WAY better on the Mustang than all of the others. No question. Kills Line 6 as well. As far as pure tone goes, it depends on the sound you are after. Personally I like them both. But the Mustang II is far superior to the I and the Vox in terms of cleans and slightly...

You forgot 36th Anniversary PAF. Probably better than all the others. Not for hyper metal, but best overall sound.

    need usb interface

This is a super newbie type post here. I have always used my Delta 1010, but the computer got fried recently. I'm going to do the USB interface thing now. What would be the cheapest USB interface that would be at least as good as the Delta sound card? I have one of those Behringer (he he) ones...

    Most Overrated/Overpriced Electric Guitars

Another thing to consider is investment. A $2500 Gibson will hold its value or gain over time. A $300 Agile LP will sell for $200 down the road. If its a keeper, OK, but how many of us keep our guitars forever?
