I've recently been introduced to the world of virtual drums. I downloaded MT Power Kit 2 and have been using just the stock sounds. I'm quite impressed with these samples but I'm fairly new to midi files and virtual drums, I've really enjoyed being able to use my electric drums as a midi...
Sorry I could've been a bit more clear about my question, I guess I'm more so curious as to what an 'impulse response' is. I'm looking for a good VST amp simulator and I liked what his sounded like, but I'm just uncertain as to what an 'impulse response's' application is.
I just came across this website: Home / Joey Sturgis Tones
But I'm curious as to what these are exactly. Are these VST amp simulations or what is their application?
I could try Reaper, I simply used Cubase because that's all I know. I'll give it a try.
I was doing some scouring online looking for a single unit that could possibly play 4 separate tracks. I came across the Sonar VS 100(it might be made by Roland, not sure). It has 6 outputs and uses an SD...
Initially we did run an MP3 player, had backing tracks panned left and click to the right and that setup worked well. We sometimes had an issue with crosstalk where you'd hear the click track coming through the house that was mainly an issue with how we had it rigged up.
Ideally, I would love...
Sorry for my delayed reply! I was on a 3 week tour through the States. So here's an update on what's been happening.
Before leaving for tour we were jamming and having major issues with it cutting out. We cranked the amps as we would for our live shows and hit the drums like I usually do(as if...
UPDATE!
So while practicing with the rig again, I pressed F12 to keep an eye on the meter. Sure enough, the playback cutout and when it did, the Disk meter went from 0-100 until it cut back in, other than that, neither the ASIO or the DISK meters do anything.
What could be causing the disk to...
I'll knock it around and see if that is the case. I'll also jiggle the wired connections while it's playing to see if that trips it.
I guess it seems plausible that a faulty interface could be the culprit but I just don't understand why the audio meters within cubase would drop whenever the...
Thanks for the continued help in this matter. I've been tinkering with my setup and may be making some progress.
I updated the firmware for the VSL44 and I can now access the control panel and adjust the buffer size.
Before doing that, or changing anything, I was playing everything the same as...
Thanks for the replies. I'm currently downloading LE 7, I'll see how that goes.
I've gone through my system itself and have disabled anything that may be slowing the computer down, I even put in on airplane mode so nothing downloads in the background.
I'm currently going through my live...
Im running cubase 5 on my laptop with a presonus vsl44. My vsl has 4 outs and i have 4 separate tracks running within cubase(each track is assigned to its own out). This is for live settings, backtracks, click tracks etc. My major issue with this is that my playback will cutout quite often, the...
Thanks guys, that makes sense.
Not only does the control panel button within Cubase not work, but I can't seem to open the Audiobox software, I click it and nothing happens. I just installed it about 2 weeks ago.
I've been having an issue with this for live settings. Basically I'm running Cubase 5 on a laptop with a Presonus VSL44. I use this live so I can play 4 separate tracks simultaneously. It all runs fine, but there will be moments while playing that all the audio cuts out. The song doesn't freeze...
Well thank-you all for your replies.
The main issue with the laptop may have been the Focusrite unit itself. Whenever we'd plug the unit in, it would blue screen and restart. I'm not too savvy with the computer side of things, so the simpler it is, the better.
I'm interested in trying the...
We did use the laptop with a Focusrite interface, however we found the laptop to be unreliable. We were playing a set and we ended up losing our click track half way through some songs etc. It just makes us nervous having that. That's why we want something that we can just plug and play...
Thanks for your reply. Some buddies of mine had an old ADAT unit that they used, but I'm not sure how it's been working for them, they're a ways away from me.
The HD24 seems like a probability, I want something that I can simply plug into my computer to import the tracks and have them play...
