no, no... not those slutty cables that quack like a duck...
In order for me to get from my 22-2 into my ad converter, I have to use RCA to 1/4" cables... no probs there...
However, in my quest for a better cable, I purchased a pair of yorkvilles... the RCA end fits tight on the 22-2... I have...
I have an audio interface that accepts -10 dbv line level signals...
I'm not sure what the diff is between -10db and dbv...
I want to send mixes from my 22-2 into my computer via this interface. Will this work well considering that the interface only accepts -10 dbv? am I good to go...
how do i disconnect a firewire interface from my mac... ? just pull the firewire cable out of the port?
I'm new to the mac. Remembering the PC days of "it's safe to remove hardware"....
what to do?
is there a method?
seems as though the duet is intended for "powered speakers"...
well I use passive monitors... so, should I join in with the PC users and say fuck you to apogee for not including me in the club?
anyone run the duet into an amp?
Today I read this article about "the death of high fidelity": http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/17777619/the_death_of_high_fidelity
And so I began to ponder the common trends in audio production. Especially the use of high end gear, and the growing number of engineers that decide to spend...
just got a mac...
I'm currently playing some aiff files through itunes... I'm wondering if itunes adds anything to the files.... anything such as eq etc... or, are the files being playing as they are.... just a clean play?
maybe this is a wanker question, but heck... it's just a concern.
Budget converters being Echo Audiofire 4, M-audio 2496.... M-Audio PCI cards etc....
I have read that the converters in the masterlink are not accurate.... True?
Nonetheless, anyone have any experience with the masterlink vs budget sound cards?
Where does the Masterlinks ADDA sit in...
In short.... I have just installed my m-audio 2496 card into my new computer....
on playback of audio files/cds, all I hear is static/computer noises.... also, when I move my mouse around or open programs, I hear the computer noises change sound, as if the sound is reacting to mouse...
specifically, the ULTRAMATCH PRO SRC2496.
anyone use this?
I'm in the market for a DA converter... I'm not tracking ITB, just using the computer to transfer audio from tape. So, I don't think I need the universal audio unit :D.
My soundcard is the audiophile 2496...
All I'm looking for is...
I need to know, cause I'm loosing my mind googling and finding zero...
Is there an interface for a macbook that does not have mic pres? All I want are some analog outs for monitoring and spdif digital I/Os...
Is there anything like this???
Hi guys,
I'm going to put together a new computer for basic use... email, internet... and also to act as a hard disk recorder for capturing stereo mixes from my 1/4" stereo deck (as mentioned on a previous thread).
Here's what I've come up with:
XPC SD32G2 --...
Friends,
I'm at the very beginning of my computer building journey...
Keep in mind that this computer will be used for general computing and as a hard disk recorder... for the purpose of capturing stereo mixes from my 1/4" tape machine...
There will be no heavy tracking....
I'm thinking...
question about going spdif digital into a mac mini...
well, the spdif input on the mac mini is an optical mini-jack... would there be a sound quality risk if I were to use an adapter on the cable to fit the macs digital input?
for example...
as for slapping an analog master to digital... be it a computer or external device...
I'd rather not have to use a plugin to raise the overall level of the song, what are my options?
Hit the digits of say a masterlink as "hot as possible" in the digital domain?
would this achieve a nice...
the ebtech line level shifter device transforms unbalanced to balanced...
why don't I trust this device...?
does anyone use this box?
would it be wise to send a stereo mix from RCA outs through this device... have the signal turn balanced so it can enter the external ad converter +4?
or just...
