Hello, I find that recording acoustic guitar with just mics makes it hard to mix as it seems to take up alot of the sound stage. would it be better to record with both mic and DI? or am i just doing something wrong?

I am looking to swap some pickups on an electric for something that is brighter. Can you guys let me know what are the brightest pickups you have used? I am really looking for an extended frequency range. I dont want a mid honky sounding pickup. I guess my point of reference would be the gibson...

This might be a crazy question. But does anyone ever mic a speaker cabinet for things other than a guitar? lets say i wanted to mic a speaker and run vocals through it again or lets say a hi hat or snare to get a different sound. Is that something that is ever done? or am i just crazy?

No Ground issue no nothing issue. Dimarzio accoustic pickup. someone/somewhere/something in my building turns on and bam high frequency buzz. I usually wait for it to be turned off but this eats up my time. sometimes it takes hours. I have Furman conditioner. but that does nothing. the EMI is in...
