I've got a new/old 246 off of ebay, and it needs to go back to Tascam to have it's headphone amp fixed. While it's there, I might as well have them go through it, and fix anything else that needs (or will need) adjustment.
Any suggestions of what else I should have Tascam do to get it ready...
They look about the same. Anyone know what the differences might be.

I haven't bought the 424 yet, but I'm planning on sending my 4-track recordings to the computer through the line-in of the soundcard, and mixing in the computer.
Am I going to need to use a limiter to keep from overloading the soundcard, or does the 424 not have that hot a signal?

Back in my 1st time through the recording experience, 25 years ago, I liked a combination of large diaphragm and small diaphragm consensers on acoustic guitar.
This time, I'm using a cassette 4-track, but I would like to keep the same combination of warmth/body and air/sparkle the consensers...
