Good info. There is an exception to the ts808. The first ones used a different circuit board with dual 1458 oPAMP chips. The 35th anniversary from 2014 recreated that circuit, except they used double 4558 chips instead of the 1458. My ts808 isn't near as aggressive as my ts9 (Malaysian chip)...

Depends on the year and parts inside, but generally the TS9 (later original ones and reissues) are aggressive, raunchy overdrives, which I love. The TS808 still sounds like a Tubescreamer, but a little less raunchy, maybe in the mids. I just picked up a Wampler Faux Tape Echo that sounds...

There's a reason why there are so many Tubescreamer clones around; it's a great sounding pedal. I recently bought the 35th anniversary ts808 which is a little more polite than my 90s ts9, but both are great pedals. If you're happy with your amp tone but want a pedal to give more saturation...

Just played the clip. Nice. You're getting a really clear string-to-string sound with your chords, even when the pre gain is up. Very nice. Try some Judas Priest or KISS with it and you'll be in Marshall heaven.

I agree, and lol. Also, I was surprised Hiwatt wasn't in there. I haven't played the new ones, but I've played a vintage head/cab that my amp tech has and it is sweet.

I've only cleaned mine a couple of times, but used soapy water and a sponge.

T o my ears it sounds fantastic with both guitars. The Strat gives it a nice vintagey classic rock vibe. Great job capturing the tone of it on 'tape'.

I typically use mine to boost mids, so I get the amp where I want it and then fine tune with the pedal.
