Pulled a coupla guitars from storage for general cleaning and love recently

Allow me to drop some historic knowledge on the LP weight and history…read if you will, don’t learn if you don’t. Here we go… ‘Vintage burst’ is a term that began as a finish in 1958 as the Les Paul Standard model was evolving back in its heyday. All Les Paul models as they quickly grew in...

FTR, I use Joyo wireless live shows. Inexpensive but their wireless systems have worked.

Standing with a LP, depending on whether a modern routed wood ‘solid body’ or a semi-hollow model, it’s a big difference for sure. How meticulous of a player are you and how much does your guitar tone matter in your live rig? That’s what LP and weight burden comes down to. If you can play a...

That said, I’m surprised Jimmy Page’s frail frame played Les Pauls live for so many years. I’m guessing like me, it was the sound he wanted most and dealt with the negatives as a sacrifice.

    Horrible resonances

But for someone that hasn’t been here as long as some of us, maybe he didn’t consider that. So many ‘expert’ opinions missing the point on what he’s asking that is soooo simple. Gotta love this place. 🤣🤣🤣 Hey Monkey Allen, your D-28 is probably just doing what an acoustic guitar does. Don’t...

Non of my LPs have repaired broken headstocks. Trick is about breaking guitars, you just have to be careful not to drop them, same with Jacksons and Fenders. Trick with playing a Les Paul, you have to keep your back and shoulders in strong physical shape as a general fitness goal. Otherwise, a...

Guitar strap color to match Gibson’s cream appointments

FWIW, this wrinkled Italian strap by Ernie Ball (Made in Canada tag) is light and soft and matches the Gibson LP cream appointments perfectly. It’s soft and feels really comfortable as a strap should. If future searchers find this thread in a search, it ended up well. 🤟🤟🤟

Four years ago. This is the highest I’ve ever worn my guitar and not sure why it’s so high for that show.

Guitar strap color to match Gibson’s cream appointments

I’m not sure how people play their guitars sitting so high? I tried it a few times early on and always felt like I was expecting to be served a plate of food…and all I wanted to do was play guitar in a low, soulful way. Even in Felony (hair metal band circa ‘80s/‘90s) always slung low and just...

    Horrible resonances

I read through some of your thread; until it started getting speculative, IMO. So you wants to know whether you D-28 (a fine guitar) has issues, right? I’ve played a few D-28s an when shopping 2003-ish, bought a Taylor 414 CE at GC . I liked the strumming equalization, low end and tone over...

FWIW/ this trap is soft, looks good, feels good, and wears my ‘98 Gibson Std well (from a player not a sit-down couch potato). 🤟🤟🤟

Started out as a simple post, took a little turn, ended up with good informative posts including what and where. Everything else to the contrary was just unnecessary. Some constructive, some belligerent. My thread and it ended well. Without wasting a shitload of money unnecessarily. 🤟🤟🤟

Strap: $49 shipping and tax, and matches my ‘98 Std appointments beautifully. Soft leather and comfortable as I could wish. 🙂 Guess I could’ve bought a $400 strap and slapped it across a $100 Chibson, but I’ve been doing this for awhile and know where I want to spend my money.

I read enough to know comments that troll and try to judge and make fun of someone that is honestly looking for simple answers outside of of a Prime Time thread, where that behaviour is expected. Someone: My car has a flat tire! What should I do? Brandy: You should stay safe in place and call...

I know that, and feel bad for Monkey Allen. I read first two pages then skipped to the last. I think MA is just looking to vent and collect ideas, see if he really has a lemon or others have the same with their Martins. I find it unfair that he’s being judged and joked about in a legitimate...
