Full Circle - Latest track from my upcoming album - (Big Pink Floyd influence)

Good stuff. And the Floyd runs deep . Or at least the Dave. It’s very obvious to me he’s been a big influence on your playing. :D Curious…. You do anything with vocals?

Bridge Across the Sky - The sixth track and video from my upcoming album

I liked it. I’m very surprised the tune was posted in September and no one had posted till now. I do however think this should have been in the “show off” forum. Seems like you’re sharing the tune more than looking for mix advice. For what it’s worth, I think you did a good job with it.

Pulled a coupla guitars from storage for general cleaning and love recently

Generally vintage bursts were much lighter. Now think of poor Randy Rhoads with his smallish frame playing a 70s LP custom night after night! Back breakers!

Pulled a coupla guitars from storage for general cleaning and love recently

Hmmm, myself and the boys got together after not playing for a few weeks. We did a 4 hr jam. I went home wiped out! Usually we’ll just do 2 hours. Man, I have new respect for aging legacy rock acts doing national and world tours! Props to them. But then again, they don’t have to lug their...

    Budget Stereo Compressor recommendation ?

Earlier 166 models are USA made. Mine’s one of those, and I trust it’s better. Usually when overseas outsourcing is started quality goes down. Just my opinion

Guitar strap color to match Gibson’s cream appointments

Time for a break, me thinks. Just came in for a minute and the first two things that I click on seem to be getting ugly. Do we have a ‘walk in and walk out of a room’ emoji? :D

Guitar strap color to match Gibson’s cream appointments

I could be wrong but I think he was being a wee bit sarcastic regarding another thread (not one of yours) That thread is about a Martin guitar manifesting buzzing or a weird resonance or some shit. Anyways, 18 months and 9 or 10 pages of talk, talk, talk with zero resolution. It’s quite...

Guitar strap color to match Gibson’s cream appointments

Too colorful for me I prefer the all black look. Like Johnny Cash. Hey! He was Emo before Emo! What a trend setter!

Guitar strap color to match Gibson’s cream appointments

We still on straps ? Geez! How we gonna solve the world’s problems if we don’t even have a solution for color matched straps!! :D

    Horrible resonances

This thread was started in March of 2024. It’s over a year old and 9 pages of talking about it. The mantra seems to be “when I have the time”. You don’t seem to even have time to post a pic of the frets. Yet there’s plenty of time to post and even put up clips of the manifestation. Fix the...

    Budget Stereo Compressor recommendation ?

I have an American made DBX 166. It’s pretty good. Also have an ART Pro VLA ll. Like that as well. Used to have an Alesis 3630. Eh, kind of junk, but it does have a certain ‘color’ it adds.

Can I stand on a piece of metal to ground myself instead of buying a hum eliminator?

You could always install EMG pickups. No string ground required and they are noiseless. (not recommending or endorsing. Just another option)

How do you treat a Shaky/Wobbly Vocal take in post production?

Not as bad as I expected. But I’d simply practice, practice and re-record. As it is, it makes a perfectly fine scratch track. Ps. If it makes you feel better, my vocals are much worse :D

Can I stand on a piece of metal to ground myself instead of buying a hum eliminator?

Not always true. For example, a Gibson ES125 has a rosewood bridge so the ground is attached to the strap button and the trapeze tailpiece. But yes, in most cases the strap button is not electrically connected to anything. It’s just a piece of metal screwed into wood. So running a wire from it...
