    First post Reggae

Thanks Jessica, yes, I wrote this. Frankly, it's the first and only reggae song I've tried so far. I like to challenge myself by writing in different styles than I would normally (mostly rock). Helps keep the songwriting muse sharpened, I believe. Helps me sing in different styles too.

    First post Reggae

hadn't noticed that with the crashes, but I'll relisten and it'll prob stick out like a green thumb when I do. thx for bringing that up. I placed a room verb over the whole thing and removed it, looks like I should have gone with first instincts. the ending was odd because this was done by...

    First post Reggae

hey, thaks Bru. I'll def rethink the intro. I think perhaps the vocs could come up just a bit overall, and will prob remove the first backings.

    First post Reggae

Well, my first post. A few who have commented on Kindafishy's Insolence and Wine or Cold Soul tunes may recognize the voice here. I'm the singer of all his and my songs. Here's a Reggae-ish "solo" song I did with a couple of Reaper forum members with: Me on delayed guitar/vocals Stratman on...

You Can't Take It With You - anthem-style

well, looks like most of my thoughts have been covered. Still, the strongest crit for me was the lack of low end body--even for a mostly acoustic/voice type song like this. If the bass and kick were recorded, they should be heard to some degree. catchy anthem, though.

    Negation 3

    I didn't say prog, I said "proggy-ish"

    Negation 3

Second proggy-ish tune in a row. New member, but damn, I might like it here. I like the live sound to the recording. It sounds like a great mix with an ever so slight blanket coating. Doesn't need to be bright, but could use a touch of sheen.

    An original

BIG prog fan here, so I totally felt the song. Very, very slightly Crimson-ish, but not quite. Had its own charm. Can't hear the mix the way I want to right now, but from what I can tell, it's sounding pretty good.

Music to Murder - Insolence and Wine (Don't Make Me Run)

I'm Kindafishy's 'other' half, and I joined after reading how incredibly helpful the folk around here were. Thanks to all for listening and the crits. Just made the song/mix better. Sam

    Monkey Man (Rolling Stones cover)

Damn sho sounded like Mick. I had to sit up straight when the vocs came in. Another for the bass coming down some, but I love the tone. Very very cool ivory ticklin.

need to check balance and loudness

Song #1 I actually like the drums in this, but as stated, the kick could be more prominent, it comes through ok in a couple of spots, but mostly drowned. I can tell a bass is in there, but it could also be more distinct. As for the song itself, I like the hell out of it. Almost made me thing of...

    Universal - Marching Season original

Yeah, that snare is so snappy it almost hurts to listen. Completely distracting. The bass seemed smeared all over the spectrum with no distinct focus. Love the guitars and vocals, though.

    My first master

Biggest thing for me is the kick. Just a bit too prominent on both songs, I feel. And slightly on the clicky side. Bass on both songs could be fuller also. But I do like your clarity and separation otherwise.

    Bass guitar tone and eq

Well, at least on the second version I can hear the bass, but I feel it's lacking body now. I'm not so sure the original was that heavy, but if it was, you may have gone a hair to far in the opposite direction.
