Just making a typical "djent" song for fun

thin, thin, thin. kick is maddening. The song itself sounds decent and worth fixing.

Hi , New to the forum - heres one we just released

It's not YT. I heard the version in the signature and got a similar feeling in indistinctness. The vocals are loud enough, but lack presence to me and the drums don't sound quite right either...sort of a putt, putt, putt type sound that doesn't sound real even if they are. I get the feeling...

Appreciate that Bruthish. Gonna try something else in the meantime.

    Rockin the house

Thanks Tadpui. I'll back away and give myself a week away from it, then come back with with a fresher listen baring in mind what's been stated.

    Rockin the house

Which, again, is precisely why I said the above. Listeners observations count quite a bit, which is why I post in the first place. If you don't listen, what would be the point? Double thanks RFR.

    Rockin the house

Don't forget this part: "but that can surely be tamed if it detracts from the song as a whole. I'll experiment with a different arrangement, RFR, and see how that goes."

    Rockin the house

Dissonance and non-easy listening is exactly what I was going for, but that can surely be tamed if it detracts from the song as a whole. I'll experiment with a different arrangement, RFR, and see how that goes. Don't wanna lose too much of the "complexity" though. Thanks a lot for that guy.

    Rockin the house

Wow, many comments going out, and only one commenter coming in. Not even the courtesy of reciprocation. Last post wasn't much different. Am I really that bad?

    muddy low end...What is it???

do a broad cut with about a half db dip and fish between 200-500Hz and you should find it. That 'mastering' type eq dip should be just enough to get rid of what you don't want, but keep what you do want. Once you find the area, increase or decrease the dip to taste. The key here is broad Q...

    Rockin the house

sorry bout that, but I'm not sure what you mean. I don't hear any noise/distortion, but maybe I've just heard the song too much and not tuning in. thx man.

    Trial Mix #1, "Moonshine" - acoustic/electric blend

I kept wanting to say "maybe the guitars are a touch bright," then I'd go "no, maybe not," then back again. So guess their fine. Bass could be just a bit more distinct, though. Really, really like the song itself.

Say I Love You From The Heart

Drums MUCH better and the mix feels fuller now. It's just a matter of preference from this point, but I still feel it could use more low end. Also a matter of choice, but you could try centering the bass (sounds like it's off to the left?), then give it a bit more punch to see if that beefs up...

    got an "oops"

Second song, can I get some feedback?

Is the scratchy fizz on purpose? I'm genuinely asking because I've found some ppl like that, so it could really be a preference. The song itself sounds cool to me, but it was hard for me (personally) to get past those guitars... ...but my ears feel scraped clean. :D

    Opinions on Mix & Master...

Well, maybe they are coming through fine, but everything's so one-level that there's little distinction (for me). "Are you saying for a mastered track it's too much?" 100% yes. But that's objectionable since it seems you're going for a particular sound by matching the loudness. That may be...

Mix This! Who wants to mix this rock track?

EDIT: are these raw files? they seem pre-limited to me.
