The biggest "damage" worry about going preamp > preamp is phantom power...
If you connect the output of Preamp "A" into the input of Preamp "B", and Preamp "B"s phantom power is on, you can fry Preamp "A".
Even without the phantom power issue, you might have some damage to Preamp "B" or other...
aux out and headphone out are line-level signals
This is not correct. Headphone out is not "line level". The impedance is different, and it has a small "power amp" to drive the headphones.
Aux out could be either "consumer" line level (-10 dBV) or "professional" line level (+4 dBu).
Looking...
It appears that the consensus on this thread is that if you can't manage to have an acoustically perfect 20' x 30' space you should just totally give up the idea of recording any vocals.
Funny thing though...there are several companies that are selling a lot of 4' x 4' x 6.5' booths with the...
What seems to be forgotten is that cover bands are in fact playing original music...
It's just not their original music.
It's just original music created by people who knew how to make music that a lot of people wanted to hear.
So, you can play what you want to play and bitch about how people...
May I suggest you take a look at these sites? I believe they mention what they use to cover the walls...

JFTR: Since most of us have what are known as "dynamic" IP addresses, there is no guarantee that we will have the same IP address from one day to the next...
The XLR connector itself is protected against the "shorting" problem that would be caused by hot plugging a TRS connector.
The major problem with hot plugging is that it sometimes creates a noise loud enough to blow your monitors (or your head if you're wearing cans). Of course it's always a...
If your budget allows, several companies make vocal booths that you can disassemble and move as required. Keep in mind that they're kind of heavy and they aren't cheap. Here's a couple of vendors:

^^^^^ this ^^^^^ tuners don't slip .... a worm gear cannot slip ...... it's basically impossible unless you have a broken tooth in which case you'll never get it in tune in the first place.
I guess you've never seen the very common tuners where the gear is screwed to the shaft the string is...
First, decide what DAW you want to use. If you plan to use Pro Tools (which I recommend) there is a somewhat short list of specs the computer must meet. In addition to Avid | Home, check Avid Audio Forums - Powered by vBulletin for a wealth of information.
If you want to build computers, build...
If you're really serious about recording, get Pro Tools and learn how to use what the pros use now, instead of learning how to use a non-pro DAW and having to learn Pro Tools later.
No DAW (except maybe a "toy" like GarageBand) is easy to use. You're going to face a steep learning curve...
To answer the question you actually asked...
I would recommend going with PT 9. It adds several new features such as ADC, plus it can be used with a variety of third-party interfaces. Despite a few sour grapes on the DUC, it is a vary stable product with only a small number of (mostly minor)...
Lots of people with smartass comments and no useful information...
The dude asked a reasonable question, if you can't give him an accurate answer, why don't you just move on to the next thread instead of polluting this one with your incessant childish bullshit?

If it's actually minimized, it's an icon at the bottom of the main Pro Tools Window. Try dragging the edit window out of the way and you should see the icon at the bottom left.
If you can't see the icon, just use the Cascade command on the Pro Tools Window menu and it should become visible...
JFTR: When I play, I play the absolute best I can. I hope other musicians, engineers, whatever are appreciative of my work.
Just because you're marketing to a mass audience doesn't mean you can't turn out quality music. If you're a good player you're a good player.
I just don't let myself get...
You've already answered part of this yourself:
Uhhhhh...not! True, both of our user names start with "b", but we're actually two different posters.
Regarding the rest of your post, I don't make music for other musicians, cause they're usually poor. I make music for the mall kids, cause they...
1) I'm looking to expand my gear for better quality in recordings. So what would the benefits of me getting some sort of mic compressor be? You can find out by learning to use the compressor plugins in your DAW software. The best investment you can make is Big Macs and Red Bulls, which you...
