    ADJ Mega TriPar Light?

Thanks Rob, are you sure you don't have to plug the audio into the light with an XLR cable? I can't see any sound sensor on the light, and yes, the sensitivity setting is right up to 8. It still doesn't do anything at all and I've had the music pretty loud. Maybe I should try it louder!

    ADJ Mega TriPar Light?

Thanks Rob, yeah the setting buttons are on the back, so I can't see the light when setting it, but my instruction manual tells you not be be within 3 metres of it, It doesn't say anything about whether you can see the light. If it said, don't look at the light from closer than 3 metres that...

    ADJ Mega TriPar Light?

Hi, does anybody on this forum use these lights playing live? and how seriously should I take the safety warning on the back of the light. Basically it says, CAUTION HIGH INTENSITY ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT, avoid direct eye & skin exposure , wear proper eye and skin protection, See manual for safety...

    Apogee Duet Flashing Not Working?

Ok, I can confirm that pressing the silver dial for 5 seconds does not do anything. Is it permanently knackered? Is there a way of returning it to the factory default and starting all over over again? When you open the Maestro application it says “no Apogee device is found” Thanks again.

    Apogee Duet Flashing Not Working?

Thanks Papanate, I will try resetting it by pressing and holding the encoder for 5 seconds tomorrow. (I assume that is the main silver dial). It’s rigged up to a different computer to what I’m on normally, in my recording studio room, basically the spare room! I think I have held it down for...

    Apogee Duet Flashing Not Working?

Hi everybody, I had this problem before but did not keeps notes on how I solved it. It was pretty easy so I didn’t make a note of it. The duet is flashing alternately between the logo and the level-meter screen. This started happening because I turned the computer on with the four track attached...

    Instant Digital Recording Devices?

Ok, I’ve just ordered the Zoom H1n from GAK for £79.50 including postage. It should arrive in about a week. Then I’ll see what the line in is like and what the record and retrieve process is like. Basically I want something where you don’t have to mess about naming each audio clip inside the...

    Instant Digital Recording Devices?

I need to record through a LINE IN not an internal mic (I am sending from an electric drum kit or a mixer) and you can't do that on any modern PC you need an audio interface (I've got a Apogee Duet) but there are others. Macs abolished analogue inputs many years ago and I would assume that PC...

    Instant Digital Recording Devices?

Thanks Mickster, It’s Sony Ericsson Walkman. I can't see any other model info on it. However, it doesn’t have a line in or any input socket and I need to record an audio signal from a mixer or an electric drum kit output. It would have to be a phone with an input socket. I've been looking at the...

    Instant Digital Recording Devices?

Hi everybody, does anybody know if there is something you can get that can digitally record audio instantly like a cassette recorder, but digital? I have a Tascam DP-004 pocket studio digital 4 track but the problem with it is it’s very very time consuming to use. First you have to set up the...

Ear Protection & Drums. How Loud Is Too Loud?

Thanks. I’m not going to use them a lot. We practice roughly 14-15 times a year which is every two weeks in uni term times, roughly speaking. However, if in the future I’m in a band with a drummer who isn NOT a foreign student (or a student at all) we would do more practices. Obviously students...

Ear Protection & Drums. How Loud Is Too Loud?

Hey Johnny, do you use the TRU Univerals, the TRU Customs or the EG49 Customs? They all look pretty good to me! :-)

Ear Protection & Drums. How Loud Is Too Loud?

I'd rather see it as well though! :-) One thing I'd say though, is if it's 105dB at the mixing desk it must be louder than that if you're in the front row. :-)

Microphone For Room Recording Drum Kit?

Ok, using the -20dB setting totally solved the problem. The sound quality was awesome! Thanks to anybody who helped on this tread. :-)

Ear Protection & Drums. How Loud Is Too Loud?

That concert area looks pretty big Rich, but I was just wondering, when you said the 105dB is measured at the mixing board, which is about 30-50 yards from the stage, is that also 30-50 yards from the speakers? Like are the flying PA speakers at the stage, like at the side of the stage? Johnny...

Ear Protection & Drums. How Loud Is Too Loud?

Thanks. The Aston worked like a dream this time and all I changed was using the -20dB setting. It was a bit further from the kit than the meter (and me) but not a lot so it would have got pretty much the same SPL. 105dB for a gig outside? OMG. It would be louder than that on stage if we played!

Ear Protection & Drums. How Loud Is Too Loud?

OMG, 115.7 dB! Every song was 115 point something, except one at 111.3dB, this reading was right next to me not at the kit. As well as that on one song she went absolutely ape whacking it and I could feel my ear getting aggravated badly by it. I didn't get this reading because I had accidentally...

Ear Protection & Drums. How Loud Is Too Loud?

Thanks guys, I got this UYIGAO SPL meter in the end. It looks pretty good to me. It should arrive before band practice on Wednesday. :-) Digital Sound Level Meter, UYIGAO Mini Sound Measurement Testing Audio Noise Decibel,35dBA~135dBA Max/Min/Hold Mode with Auto LCD Screen Display: Amazon.co.uk...
