Using Revolver to warm things up.

I didn't use any distortion on revalver. The distortion came from the Zoom unit. Tried the J-station a couple of weeks ago. Didn't care for it; still had that direct to the board sound. I haven't tried a Pod but I've heard some relatively nice things done on one by Keaggy. I've heard a lot of...

Using Revolver to warm things up.

I could use some input on this: I just got Cakewalk GT Pro which comes with the light version of Revolver. I haven't had time to mess around with it much since I don't play a whole lot of electric guitar these days but I got a chance to horse around for a few minutes this morning. I went...

A new way to turn CD files into waves!

I just picked up this tidbit at a SBLive site and I'm not sure if it'll work with other soundcards or not but here's what they have listed: CDFS.VXD: Easy CD Ripping http://alive.singnet.com.sg/download/cdfs.zip What you can do with it: You can access each CD audio track direct from the disc...

    Partitioning HDs in on XP

Emeric's the man I guess. I almost understood 3/4 of it. :) Actually the Partition Magic software I have isn't that much easier. You should see the size of the manual that came with this thing! As cheep as HD's are getting now, I think we're gonna see a lot less drive partitioning in the...

    people who need mp3 storage.

Say Waldo; I've been looking around at some of the mp3.com type sites including yours, garageband.com and a few others. One thing I noticed when doing test downloading of files was that mp3.com had the only streaming audio (low bandwidth downloads) that didn't cut in/out/rebuffer, etc while...

    people who need mp3 storage.

I mentioned this elsewhere but GeoCites is allowing you to upload and download mp3's again now. 15 mg of space. That's enough for short demos. As far as the domain thing goes, depending on how important that is to you, you might consider just using a shortcut url. beam.to is a good one. I've...

    Partitioning HDs in on XP

I would get software that's dedicated to this type of thing myself. Partition Magic's really good. About $70 though.

    making internet collaboration work

GeoCities is allowing people to upload and download mp3's again now for some reason. It's only 15 megs of space but you can always take out several accounts. They're free after all. And there's always http://free.prohosting.com/ 50 megs with that one but the way you have to downlaod files is...

A little Keaggy volume knob trivia

I don't know what's going on with this server now. I'm at someone else's computer right now and they're using netscape. When i left clicked the link I got to the download page but when I left clicked the link there, instead of giving me a choice to download or play from the browser it...

A little Keaggy volume knob trivia

Come on! You must be a ringer. You didn't really just guess that off the top of your head did you? It took me years and years to figure it out.... He's been going to the hardware store since the 60's and replacing the volume knob closest to his pinky with a quick tapered pot all...

A little Keaggy volume knob trivia

For anyone that's been wondering what all the hubbub is about Phil Keaggy I thought you might like to hear a small excerpt. It's about 2 ½ minutes of him standing on stage soloing by himself after the band has dropped out. This is the musical section that Steve Morse has referred to as having...

Phil Keaggy Interview in Recording magazine

Hey Tweed! There are a lot of albums that Phil has released only through his fan club. I believe there were more underground albums in that bunch. I remember the one you're talking about very well. It actually sounded very good except for a rather annoying drum machine (sounded almost like one...

    Ballooning (something different)

What? I didn't win the golden turkey award? Foiled again! I should point out that Kurt and I had no success what so ever with our commercial venture. We're from a small town in Southern Illinois and as you can imagine there's not a lot of call for studio work out here. The reason we got in good...

    Ballooning (something different)

Did you miss this part? "You must left click and choose to save to disc." If you "right" click then you haven't followed instructions. Youare right though, in that they should make an effort to be more like everyone else.

What we want in the next CEP

Sorry if I came on a little strong about the midi stuff. If someone wants to use it that's their business and not mine. I'm glad there are a couple of programs for recording out here that don't have it though. I started out with Cakewalk Guitar Tracks 2.0 (8 stereo tracks) which doesn't have...

What we want in the next CEP

I agree totally! I hate midi with an undying passion. I just don't understand why anyone would need midi stuff gumming up the works. If a person can't even decide what sounds they want before they start recording or don't have the tallent to record without constantly going back to fix mistakes...
