Can it br a type of music that I don't know how to play right now? If so, I'd pick cassical guitar. Nylon string. I don't think I'd ever get tired of that.
Hi, Stay away from Full Sail. I went there. They do teach you a lot, but IMO it's waaayy too expensive, and doesn't help you when getting a job. Some studio owners actually shy away from students from Full Sail. You stand a lot better chance taking what knowledge you have and just starting an...
I do most of my vox iin stereo also. It does give a wider, easier to listen to, sound IMO. I usually don't end up panning then that much though. Maybe 2 and 10.
I've been figer picking for about 7 years now. Started out with Dust inthe wind and then started learning some bluegrass stuff. I was inspired by a Leo Kotke tape my aunt sent me, and the movie Deliverence. HaHa.
Pin#2 is hot, Pin#1 is ground, Pin#3 is low. It says which pin is which in really small letters on the XLR connector. If you have 2 wire shielded cable, unravel the shield, twist it up. Thats your ground pin#1 white will be hot( if you like) and black will be low.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Pipe! I wish they could get all these things standardized. Isn't there a group that does this.
Oh yeah, Have you ever read an AES monthly. I never have. Even though I get them monthly. I guess you have to be some computer geek that accidently falls into a cauldron of super dork formula...
Yeah the rapping is good I guess, I really wouldn't know. I hear the artifacts too. And the music is a little low and stolen.
Do people speak ebonics in the UK too?
DO you guys do drive-bys with billy clubs?
Right on! I will take all of this into consideration when I research a DAW. It always seemed like when you slam the levels on a DAW(just before clipping) and printed to a master, it was always quiter than my analog masters. So I've never been very comforatable trusting DAW meters. It could just...
Yeah, M. Brane has good advice. I used to do it the same way. Bouncing tracks can be tricky when doing multiple stereo instruments. I takes a lot of planning ahead of time. Still a lot of fun though.
The stereo buss meter is one of the most important tools in mixing for me. I'm about to purchase a DAW, and I was wondering... Is digital zero equivilant to zero on say a VU meter. I've heard so many contradictions on this area. -12 , -18 , -6 Which is it, and how do I cal the two so I can have...
At most large retail record stores, they have a section with SFX in it. Halloween, military sounds, outdoor ambiance. There may be some sort of licencing issue, but i just use mine for fun. Sometimes I tweak 'em so you can't tell where they came from.
Are you looking to actually distort your vox? Or just use that comb filter(boxy lo-fi) effect that a lot of people are into nowadays?
I agree with Chess though, either way, you should track them clean, then decide whats best. Try cutting the highs and lows maybe boost the mids, then throw on a...
Yeah I'd agree with Tex. Time code DAT and Nagra are the standard. Nagras used to be really expensive, I don't know if you can get one for under a $1000.
