Man, I'd love to fool around with that board. jake-owa has one, but can't get it to work. It was acustom board and there's no telling what happened to it before he got it.
Here's mine.

All analog recordings. First 3 were mastered using a Finalizer(nice peice of gear) last one is just a rough mix straight to 2 track.
Does anyone know where to get cheap 1/2" 456 Quantegy tape. They only sell it in bulk over here.
Also, How about MRLs I can't find these things anywhere.
I've always liked the Dean Markley .009s You know, the ones that come in the package with the naked spreading girl in the hayup in the barn loft.
I guess they're going to stop selling them at my guitar store, so I'll have to get something else.
I haven't broke a guitar string in many years, I...
CD quality is a relative term. You could easily pay 1000 bucks to get one song mastered and I'm sure they could get it sounding better, but you realy need to take care of it in tracking.
A desser would work, like Handawg suggested, also you could learn to swallow your S's while singing. Thats...
I used to have problems with my wrist also. It went away after I started exercising and lifting weights. But your pain might be arthritus like jimistone suggested, in which case, I don't think exersice would be good. You should just get it checked out, man. Find out what is first. I hope it gets...
Sennheisers idea is a good one. try facing the mic in the opposite direction to the amp, or just try moving it until it stops. You could buy an RTA and find the feedback and cut it. But thats expensive. First I'd move the mic around, and if that doesn't work then, I'd try different mics.
Oh yeah, I can't sell the machine. It won't let me. One night when I was sleeping, it grew an umbilical cord and attached itself to my navel. If I cut it, I will die. Sorry.
Actually I have an ATR60 1/2" 8 track, and a Studer Revox C278 1/2" 8-track, and a Studer Revox 1/4" 2-track. Can you believe I got the Studers for free! Studios are getting rid of em. You just gotta look hard. Got the ATR 60 for $500 at a radio station. They didn't even know what it was...
I know what you're talking about. The egg crate stuff. Aurelex like.
If you don't have a ton a money, and since your not going to get a pro enviornment in a garage anyway, I would just do the old hanging carpet trick. Hell, hang carpet, matresses, whatever you think is best. It won't be...
I'm not sure, but I think the 1642 is only a 12 channel console with 4 stereo inputs. I wouldn't think you would want this for recording or live. I'd go with the 1604
Graphic EQs only amplify a given freq. You have no control over what freq you are amplifying. Only the ones they give you.
A semi-parametris Eq has Gain, and freq. You can boost the gain, then sweep through the freq. A fully parametric EQ can control gain, freq, and bandwidth. Bandwidth allows...
Sure, the SSL Axiom. I'm not sure how much the Oxford goes for, but SSL 9000 J channel strips go for about $9000 per channel. Are you planning on buying one? Hehe.
I like to check it out also. I have a DR770 that I'm very pleased with as far as programming goes, but it just doesn't have good enough sounds for me. How much did you get it for?
I'll always prefer mixing on an analog board. I feel more intouch with whats going on, like I understand it better, and feel what the knobs are doing.
I also love doing mixes on the fly to 2 track. It's almost like playing an instrument. like learning a riff.
