    DMP3, True P-Solo, Grace M101, Mico

Ok here's where I'm at! I have recently spent a load of time and money on getting the more important issues sorted here. I've just built a vocal booth and am sorting out the mixing room acoustics. I've also just invested in some decent monitors that suit my room better(Focal CMS65's) and bought...

Has anyone on here compared the DMP3 and the Mico?

    VST EQ? Izotope? T-Racks? Mastering?

Yes! You can either insert the whole of T-Racks 3 or load each effect separately which I find really cool!!

    VST EQ? Izotope? T-Racks? Mastering?

I am using T-Racks 3 De-luxe and love it. I tried the demo for Izotope Ozone 4 and liked this too but preferred the sound, layout and the ability to load each individual component of T-Racks 3 as a separate VST. I find that I use the Fairchild 670 compressor and the T-Racks Pultec and classic...

Mine is the stock version. I've just read the Neve 1073 type preamps article in TapeOp and am tempted to get mine modded at a later date!

Thought I'd report back and say I ended up going for the GAP PRE-73 and am glad I did! This preamp is great sounding and way better the the ART MPA Gold that I had. I also prefer it to the Tampa! Am really happy I decided to get it!!

    Active PA spekaers?

I've can only comment on the 450 w EON 15 G2's. I find these to be an excellent system with my Yamaha desk. The pre's, eq and fx all work well really well! I've never used more than a 3rd of the power of my JBL's as they are REALLY loud so maybe a less powerful speaker would be fine though...

The ULTIMATE Entry-Level Mic Pre Poll... :op

You can get a mod for the DMP3 now which is said to make a noticeable improvement! You can pick up a DMP3 and get it modded for under $300!! Also, the Golden Age Projects PRE73 is an awesome preamp under $300!!

    Active PA spekaers?

I picked up a pair of JBL EON 15 G2's when they were being discontinued over here for £500 a pair! These have been great workhorses and very loud!! I use them to put 3x vocals, trumpet, sax, keys, bass and kick drum through as they do a great job. I'm using a Yamaha MG 166CX desk with them...

    Mic pre+instrument DI query

I would recommend either a Focusrite ISA One or Golden Age Projects PRE73. The ISA One is 2 channels.Channel 1 is a mic pre and Channel 2 is a DI. You can pick one of these up for £399 inc.P&P these days which is a real bargain...

Mic and preamp for female vocals for $350?

Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP is proving to be the most stable interface I've owned. Totally rock solid with no glitches or crashes!!

Mic and preamp for female vocals for $350?

Hi yes. You only need one interface and either the Saffire 6 or TC Konnekt 6 would be an excellent choice!

Mic and preamp for female vocals for $350?

The Focusrite Saffire 6 USB and TC Konnekt 6 would be top of my budget list. The Saffire 6 goes for around $159 and the Konnekt 6 around $129. The conversion and pres in these two interfaces are excellent. I have a Saffire Pro24DSP and love it! I've used the Alesis IO2, EMU 0404USB, M-Audio...

    what pre amp to buy

I can also recommend the GAP PRE73 as a great sounding preamp. Golden Age Projects are also releasing a compressor this summer and if it's as good as the PRE73 then this would make an impressive chain!

    Next Vocal mic?

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I have already bought it. Have you tried the 2200T ? Apparently the new tube model is said to have a smoother top end and a fuller low/mid range. I will definately be getting the JJ Audio mod for my MK-319 and an SM7b (hopefully a secondhand one will come up in the UK).

    Next Vocal mic?

Just bought the SE2200T for £160. Will be picking the SM7b up next I will probably end up selling my MXL v67g and maybe my Studio Projects B1 aswell. Will also be getting my Oktava MK-319 modded by JJ Audio. Should be sorted on the mic front for quite some time then!! Thanks for the...

    Good $200 preamp for a Shure SM7?

Another vote for the GAP PRE-73! Loads of really clean gain!! The DMP3 is also another good option and there is a mod available which is said to improve noise performance and transients:- http://www.gearslutz.com/board/new-product-alert/471245-dmp3-mod.html

    Next Vocal mic?

I'm considering buying 2 mics now. I've been offered a secondhand SE2200T at an extremely low price and am pretty tempted. I'm also torn between the OktavaMod MK-319 and SM7b. Ideally I'd like all three but can't stretch to this!! Not sure which 2 to get!?
