As a drummer I prefer recording with a click.. lets me get on with the performance and not think about tempo.. As an engineer makes life 100 times simpler for editing rearranging bits etc..

What's the Glyn Johns method?? Is it like the recorderman method?

If you are going for an 11 piece drum kit.. Clip-ons where possible would make sense or you're gonna have mic stands everywhere!! But as said above there are good and bad clipons just as there are good and bad standalones. EDIT: Actually, if you're going standalones just get some good mic...

Basically I start with a preset, change a few settings and then want to save as on the right handsside of window.. I click append on the left side and it will create a new preset fwith the new settings? See screenshot:

I use the MSH1s as overheads.. In a not great room.. Really like them. Hear a song using them HERE (ignore the vocals please...) Have the MSH 1Ks too, tried them on kick and snare.. no good for these imho and have since bought seperate 24dB pads for them as a way too hot for kick or snare...

I'd have to say yes but think it's just down to the sounds used.. (espesh the chimes and strings) nice piece though.
