    critique my weekend's work.

It definately sounds very flat like it was just tracked and not processed (in total contradiction to what decipha was saying!) Snare needs work I think and the guitars could do with added clarity. But the makings of it are definately there.. Nice kick drum sound, could maybe add a touch of...

Which mic? SM58 or cheap condenser?

Just to shed a little light on th 57 vs 58 debate i asked about on antoher forum a while back: While we're on the SM58 subject.. I've read that the 57 and 58 are the same mic. true or false?? I have a 57. will this do the job as wellas a 58 for vocal. My Question: Are the 57 an d58 the...

    Is this terrible?

What they all said above! Think the kick could be pulled back a bit (or maybe drop a wee bit of lo end off or add a touch definition?) and the snare could be nicer and clean vocal need to be de-nasaled.. Add some lo mids? But for sure not a mix to be ashamed of! And cool song! Rawk On! \m/

KILL RAMI!!!!!! Then listen to this...

Great choon!! I agree on the kick being a bit too hot and get the hi end to cut through a bit better on the hats. Love the performance and arrangement.. great song! but definately pull back the kick..

Need feedback on latest metal band recording

Definately needs tightening up performance-wise, particularly at the start of the song. Are they playing with a click? The kick needs to cut through like erock mentioned and the guitars are lacking low mids alright..

Drum Click Track Vs. No Drum Click Track question

The biggest problem IS definately getting the click to cut through.. I know I like to record with 1 can half off so i can hear the acoustic drums, (latency screws up monitoring in the cans) and then it'sgets harder to pick out the click.. I go for the dink donk donk donk annoying focking click!

Drum Click Track Vs. No Drum Click Track question

Most drummers would learn playing along to CDs etc so much the same as with click.. (unless they're playing along to the wrong CDs!!) Most drummers would have no problem with playing to click but like everything else they need to practice this BEFORE heading into the studio!
