    Acoustic tone?

Sounds good Phil. Might sound even better if you got Tesha to lay down some accordian...if that's your bag. Never heard that, is it one of your own?

Have you written songs you really dislike ?

I'm often disappointed trying to audibly re-create what I hear(heard) in my head. Was it a good idea that I screwed in the process, or was I trying to make something work that wasn't worth the time spent. A half-assed musician or wasting effort attempting to polish a turd? Sometimes i'll have a...

Can anybody tell what type of guitar this is?

Sounds more like keys, except when in the higher register.

First song with my new amp.

Like it. Love the bass tone, drums, and how well they're playing with eachother. Some of you guys really have it down. For the style I kind of like the guit tone, but on a second listen through it is a bit fatiguing on the ears. Excellent performance, as always. What guit are you playing?

    Sinister Ride - Original

Sounds good. As mentioned the drums are bit dry and forward in the mix. As the saying goes, they don't sound as if they're in the same space. It's a good performance, but almost sounds as if the drummer was trying to hold back from overpowering the rest of the mix. Or, more technique at the...

    Please listen to my Mix

re-work the drums. that beat is not at all meshing well

    Shipwrecked

nice tune, man. i think the keys are a nice foil for the pretty much straight acoustic arraingement.

    Led Zep cover

those high vocals  Awesome cover Rami. The wife just came to my office door and shook it a bit. I just might get lucky tonight. Thanx! :D I'm not trying to criticise your playing, great job. But, maybe try more of a staccato(?) on the first part of the guitar riff. instead of Da-da Da-da...

    DigiTech RP1000

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can stack the same type effects like that. I'm not a super affected guitar guy, so to tell you the truth I couldn't tell you that definitively. I don't gig anymore, so to me it's just a toy, or something to add a bit of effects when recording. I also use...

    DigiTech RP1000

I have the RP500. It has true bypass, which is nice. But seriously, it's a pretty cool unit. Can be used in programmable preset mode, or pedal board mode. Loads of amp and cab models to mix and match. You can bypass amp modeling if you'd rather go with your own amp's tone. Seems well...

Poll: Most Overrated Guitar Player OAT

    Mel Bay.

    Beck, Clapton, Page

Beck is cool, gets some unique sounds out of his axe, technique, but those sounds can only hold interest for so long. Clapton is certainly good, but he's too safe. He never seemed to break any new ground....played like a middle aged guy far too soon, competent, professional, scared to take any...

    Gibson Pickups

Yeah, when I looked the p'ups up(on duncan's site, and elsewhere) there were more than one "59" pickup listed. The manufacturer of the guit's site just says "59". No more specifics than that.....which is, well, confusing, not very specific/informative. I'm not knowledgable on p'ups, and as well...

    Gibson Pickups

Maybe this question(s) is off topic...maybe not?...if so, sorry I don't have a Les Paul(bummer that), or a Gibson. However, the wife bought me a guitar as a gift. It has a pair of Seymour Duncans. The bridge pickup is a "59". Is that pickup kind of Gibson 57 knockoff or something?...basically...

Monstars (2012) with Joey and Brad

lol...nice work Keith, Joey and Brad. I'm not sure I heard it before you increased the tempo. The tempo you're at now sounds perfect. It plods, but just enough that it gives the sensation that one would wish it to speed up...if that makes sense....creates a certain amount of tension. I wish I...

Thinking of upgrading to Tascam 2488 neo - but I have specific questions. Please help

Not a problem dude. Here's the link(and a fairly useless/uninformative youtube). Price is down to about $85, including shipping. I should seriously consider it, my eyesight definitely isn't what it used to be. Home

Thinking of upgrading to Tascam 2488 neo - but I have specific questions. Please help

There is a mod that allows one to connect a monitor for better viewing. It's a DIY mod some guys in the UK developed. You do have to open the machine to hook it all up, which it's safe to assume would very likely void the warranty. Almost seems worth it, especially once the warranty has expired...
