Weeeeeeellllll... I hear the tiniest n bit of echo when I clap, but it is almost all coming from the direction of the door. When I plug in the condenser mics, though, there is definitely more. I guess the never ending list of gear will have to include some major acoustic treatments at some...
So, how do you know if your room is causing you problems?
Short of obvious things like refridgerator noise or blatant slapback, how do you know that the room itself is what is limiting you with a given set of equipment?
Aside from when I am tracking vocals, the room I am rec'ing in has not...
Thread Hijacking
No need to apologize to me at all. I actually feel kind of special for having started a conversation! My question was answered already. The rest is gravy, as far as I am concerned.
BTW, Dave, I am by no means an expert, but some advice I would offer on Sonar that could...

Hey all,
I am currently using Fruity Loops for the drum tracks, and exporting the final project, drum by drum, into WAVs that I dump into cakewalk.
Problem is, I find it much easier to get a convincing stereo image on any given sound if the right and left are 2 seperate tracks. I can't find...
Thanks for the tip, I may try it when I am feeling adventurous someday, but right now I am ascared to open up, unscrew, or molest in any way my monitors.
Now, if I can just find a quicker way of getting GOOD at this.....
Wow. Thanks a million for the reply!
I was in the process of making a list of stuff to buy to make a shelf for under the PC monitors, for the speaker monitors to go on. I was going to lay them down. I am still going to need to rig something up for the spekaers to sit on, but the...

I found an extremely old and beat up vintage gas pump that has 2 easily detachable side panels. (They are damn near 3/32'' thick, btw) I am thinking of having t6he panels cut down...
Thanks. I kinda thought it would be an issue to have em behind me, but was still hoping.
It looks like I am now on the quest for steel boxes to shield my speakers.... old bus station lockers come to mind....
This has got me thinking....
Hmmmm....If your spekaers aren't shielded, can the magnetic field around a computer monitor (when it is in use) damage or in any way alter the sound from the speakers?
BTW....
BTW, why did I end up with the Hafler over say a Samson or Carver (In case you were wondering)?
Basically I was able to find the Hafler within my price range when I got the all important tax refund from uncle Sam!
Finally!!
Just to update all the kind folks here on the HR.com BBS,...
I just (FINALLY) purchased a HAFLER P1000 which will be powering Tannoy PBM 6.5 monitors. I think I did OK, the speakers were $150.00, and the Hafler was 137.50, including shipping. Now I just have to figure out how to get...
Hey All -
ANybody ever heard of "Yamaha NS-052" ref monitors? I have an opportunity to buy some on the cheap, but don't know if they are even ref monitors at all, and if they are, what they are comparable to.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Maybe I am overdoing it, but...
I also just want to say "Thanks" to everyone who took the time to post replies to me. I still can't believe how great everyone on here is.
