    Lets let it go

I like it. Good balance all through and the panned guitars worked well. I liked the recording of the drums. Kinda flat but suit the song..

Been a While Heavyish Slow Song Bass in mix finally?

Bass sounds good on my phones, good balance on mix. Vox could benefit from a little verb imo. Mark

A mix of mine, and and usual, I HATE IT!!

Definitely being harsh on yourself. Its a clear mix and whilst they'll be a 1001 things you notice, thats only because by the time you complete, you've probably played back parts hundreds of times or more. It gets boring, it stops being fun. Unless of course you're an excellent musician/...

    Where the grasses lie

Evening...I've posted what is hopefully the mastered and finished version on original post if anyone has any comments...although i hear nothing is ever really finished.

    Revolution Train

That's a real strong vocal out front there...generally really tight in the mix but at times it sounds like it could be reigned in with a limiter or compression and it might be smoothed out by easing off some of the mid eq on the vocal...Great recording. Mark

A day to remember, cover (Pop-Punk)

I think the balance of your mix is really good...The tone of the guitar is perhaps a touch too processed sounding for my ears but you've done a great job. Mark

    Where the grasses lie

Thanks for the kind words Snowman. Dropping the lead in the section you mention was intentional...trying to build a dynamic for when that slightly jazz sounding guitar kicks in just before the vocal. It's all trial and error I guess. I lowered the volume of the lead melody during vocals as it...

    Where the grasses lie

Thanks for the comments fellas. I agree the drums have come up too high and was done in response to feedback on the instrumental version where most said the drums were too low..I'llpull them back a bit . The ' drowning ' is not a phrase I've heard before chuck but I get what you mean. The verb...

    One Mistake

Another nice mix there snowman...guitars in the chorus sound great.

    Vocal Help

I'm not knowledgeable enough to comment on possible frequency issues but I imagine it's as much to do with your mics performance as anything as they all have different characteristics and suit different vocalists. Experiment with different mics if you can and also your distance from the mic...

    Weird Glitch

I'm thinking it may well be a plug in utilized on another track that is causing the issue on playback rather the one I'm recording . Rendering and recording separately is a fair emergency get out if all else fails. ?

    Where the grasses lie

Hi I posted the instrumental version of this some weeks ago and finally got enough time to work on the vocals. It's not been mastered yet as just wanted a few thoughts on the balance, levels and of course the song. Feedback as always much appreciated. Mark Where The Grasses Lie Demo 14 - 07...

    Weird Glitch

I haven't because I have assumed that the driver on the AI are not the issue due to the fact that I don't experience this issue on any other song that I'm working on. Is this a wrong assumption?

    Weird Glitch

Moving on to record vocals on this track, the same glitch struck repeatedly whilst using input one on the focusrite solo. No use of the bus this time so I guess I can rule that out along with a fault on the inputs...but no nearer finding out what's causing this glitch...only happens on this...

    Latency on new mic

What an amazing tool that is.. on reflection the timing issues were probably me, monitoring the guitars too low and nothing to do with latency. The split thing has sorted it all with precision

    Latency on new mic

Lots of ways then! ? One last thing (for now) ...there was a section of a take where some seemed in time and another slightly out. I'd like to split the file in two so the wavs can be moved independently...I've seen a command for split item at cursor...is this the correct tool to use to do...

    Latency on new mic

I've just started using a Rode NT1a for vocals to replace my old ADK mic...for the first time ever in reaper I have had what appears to be some kind of latency issue on playback. No issue recording and monitoring but the playback is a few milliseconds out. I think it even varies on takes which...

    Weird Glitch

I've thus far not managed to force the glitch without the send and theres no issue adding the other vsts post recording. It just means the monitored signal whilst recording is dry as a bone which doesn't make for the best performance experience but no idea what else to do...hopefully it won't...

    Weird Glitch

I've now found that the glitch will still occur even without a VST added to the track. The only thing on the track now is a reverb send. I have also removed the send and as yet there is no glitch however I didn't play too long with it in that set up to firmly establish if the reverb bus may be...
