Yeah, forget about getting your meter close to zero. Don't dial in very much "tube", all that does is make noise and make things sound like shit. To be honest you would've been better off with the clean gain the dmp3 has. The tube in the presonus isn't really functioning like a true tube...
Buy the sm57. Every studio needs one and they never suck for cab recording. Not to mention you can generally resell it for 65-70% of it's original value.
Nope, some idiot over there would pipe up and correct anyone that said "class a". I asked him what's up with that and he threw a bunch of mumbo jumbo at me. I tried to argue but I don't know shit about amp electronics, only what sounds good.
I wouldn't bank on 8"'s being that much more quiet. If you want quiet from an amp you'll either need solidstate or get a POD. If you would've read any of my posts on the VJ you'll see me state that ,it's still pretty damn loud, several times.
Well if you like options go with the i, but if you really want that dark sound and want to save a couple bucks go with the g. I have the g and love it. It's often my go to mic on vocals.
Well this definatly isn't going to be something you're looking at but I've found it to be very dark and completely kick ass on screams and lower toned vocalists. Audix D6, yes a kick mic. For the longest time I told myself certain mics could only be for certain things and I'm glad I got out of...
Have you ever used a condenser? I use a dynamic on bass cabs all the time with fantastic results. I just find that a quality dynamic will sound much less harsh and spitty compared to a cheap condenser mic. If you want a good, cheap condenser try to find a used mxl v67g. I absolutely love...
An sm57 could get you buy in all those situations. I've used 57's with good results with male vocals, just used it on a bass cab last week and it's great for e guitars. Works on drums too. Not to mention you can sell it for almost 70% of it's new value within hours of putting it up if you had...
I've heard several people over at gearslutz absolutely rave about the soundelux u clones. Eventually I think the prices might start going up on these bad boys. What did they call them, e47's? Isn't there an ak-47?
To whoever the complete spineless pussy is who can't sign their neg rep. The point was I've been using my 002r for 4 years and if I hadn't figured it out by this point I probably shouldn't be recording but apparently that wasn't obvious to your dumbass. Fucking retard.
Yeah so well done they charge an assload for them. I bunch of high end companies have basically taken shots at doing their own version of the u series mics, especially the u47. You're looking at a least a couple grand for one of the clone mics.
