How to make it downloadable, how to put it on Youtube

I'll file that. I don't have Firefox or right-click, but it's still good to know. Also, does that consitute a download? I know whomever I send the link to can hear the song, but have they actually downloaded a file into their computers?

How to make it downloadable, how to put it on Youtube

This is probably just something I don't know how to do. I can't read a word of html. The O'Hara foundation probably doesn't want to have to fool with html, either. When they say "downloadable," I'm sure they mean without doing any of the work themselves. I've posted the song on Soundcloud...

How to make it downloadable, how to put it on Youtube

All good advice. For $100 a year, I get a lot of space, flexibility, and autonomy. At least, I've uploaded about 120 mp3s and a whole lot of photos without hitting a wall. Weebly is stupid-easy to work and to make look good, and I get everything I want for about $100 a year. I have 120 mp3s on...

How to make it downloadable, how to put it on Youtube

Yep, I agree. The application doesn't say anything about needing or using your own website. I just happen to have one.

How to make it downloadable, how to put it on Youtube

Interesting. To post mp3s on my site so people can hear them, I just click on them and drag them from my desktop onto the web page and drop them where I want them. So the only hoops are a click, a drag, and a drop. That's three hoops and no widgets or javascript or . . . . But they don't seem...

How to make it downloadable, how to put it on Youtube

Just heard back from my web provider. I'd have to pay $300 a year to make songs downloadable. The song is already on Reverbnation.com. I didn't realize that meant it was downloadable. If it does, I just need a video. I just buy CDs and LPs and listen to the radio and online videos. I've never...

Hm. Maybe Weebly (my website host) will tell me how to create that label. I sent them a query yesterday but haven't heard back yet.

Dunno. Good question. It doesn't even sound like he really wants folk music. He's looking for originals, not folk songs. Nonetheless, I want to get to the bottom of it.

How to make it downloadable, how to put it on Youtube

Yup. They need to download music to stream it, so I need to make my song downloadable. If you look above, Keith has explained clearly how to do it.

How to make it downloadable, how to put it on Youtube

Hm. I have a web site: Home. It has over a hundred songs on it. I'd like to make songs freely downloadable, but I don't know how. That's my question. And - add video stills to what? And how do I move it to Youtube? =O. ---------- Update ---------- I'll check out Bandcamp and see if I can...

    Thoughts on my lyrics?

Okay, just checked. Look again. I didn't say "Lyrics are all-important." I said: "Bad lyrics = bad song." They sure do! And I'll add: Bad music = bad song. And: Good lyrics + good music = good song. I was commenting on the lyrics because the original post was about lyrics. Good poems aren't...

    Thoughts on my lyrics?

Yikes! Not what I meant at all! All lyrics are important, but no lyrics are all-important. "A doo doo doo A da da da" isn't great poetry, but it is great song writing. Just as you say, a song isn't a tune and it isn't a poem. The sum should be more than the total of tune and words or it's not...

Qty of songs you are working on ?

Just shows to go, there's no right way. I'm adamant about finishing them, too. But when I first write the song (the ten-to-twenty minute part), it's likely to be full of cliches, not scan very well, and have a lot of chord changes I've used in other songs. It's only by spending weeks or months...

    No doubt.

My instrument preamp has a line-out jack. What's that?

Reducing the difference between loud and soft is exactly what I don't want to do! That's why I want a booster: to [I]increase[I] the difference between the comping and solos. Lookit, I'm no pro. But to my lights, acoustic guitar should only be compressed in the context of the compression of a...

My instrument preamp has a line-out jack. What's that?

I just want my single notes and double-stops to come close to matching the volume of my strumming. (Sometimes I strum hard.)
