Securing Rights for an Artist Name.

Now here's a question: I'm looking to use the name "Resurrect" for my artist name. As far as I know, I am the only other quasi-public artist attempting to use this name. I found several people on SoundCloud with the same name, but they all had such an unprofessional presence and incredibly low...

Should i kick my pc to death?

What is that core, what is its intended purpose, and why does it cause interference? I've often wondered.

    Looking for a singer.

I have noted a deplorable lack of females on this forum. Either they are just not here, or they don't engage in conversation. Which, when you're online is kinda the same thing. Good luck.

Haha! Yeah, not my thing. :D

Bringing a song into a finalized stage for recording.

I have written probably over 1000 songs. Only about 100 of them I consider pretty good. The rest I threw away, or stuffed in notebooks and binders collecting dust under my bed. I have never had a real problem coming up with lyrics and tunes. Writers block is something foreign to me. My only...

How to get your vocals to sound fatter and more powerful like a pop comercial track?

So recording it again through the studio monitors wouldn't do the trick?

How to get your vocals to sound fatter and more powerful like a pop comercial track?

I read your advice and I am intrigued by it. Do you mean to record a second take sung identical to the first? (something I've found to be rather difficult sometimes.) Or could you record the playback through the studio monitors and use it the same way?

Can Rock Music be Authentic within a Home Studio Environment?

I think this is the first really good and thoughtful post in this whole discussion. And I agree 101%!

I don't believe anybody is TRYING to skew anything, though It may have happened inadvertently.

Is this not the best song ever?

I listen to anything from jazz to swing to celtic to rock to heavy metal to classical. But I find that the music that really grabs me is somewhere in the "Celtic/Rock/Metal" area. Though, defining genres is kinda hard.

Can Rock Music be Authentic within a Home Studio Environment?

Is there a difference between "rock" and "rock and roll"?

Can Rock Music be Authentic within a Home Studio Environment?

As long as you are using your digital tools to create something real and authentic in the sense that it is an expression or out pouring of something deep inside of you: then you are doing it right. Even if you don't use real drums, real guitars, etc. Because you are going to pour yourself into...

Is this not the best song ever?

OH, Btw, that list of favorite artists was for Broken H's benefit. Because my guess is he's familiar with at least a few of them.

Is this not the best song ever?

Nobody said art had to be enjoyable. In fact, in some cases, art is downright unenjoyable.

    Desolation Row Technique

Yeah. I don't listen to a lot of Dylan, but I know what you're talking about. One of my favorite artists makes it so the vox stand out and you can hear every word. He drops the instruments down when his voice kicks in, and then brings them back up when he's not singing.

How many of you use pitch correction for your own vocals?

An ant. Mosquitoes on the other hand... (oh, wait. That's self defense) yeah. An ant. But really my point is... I have a very tight threshold. I will never use (knock on wood here, because as soon as I make an absolute vow, I usually end up breaking it.) I will never use auto tune. Ever.

Which is better, drum machines or Real Drummer ?

Somebody was looking to watch a thread explode with rage and war. Heck! I'm watching expectantly. Don't you know that this is a REALLY controversial topic here? You're gonna make everybody hate everybody. If you really wanna just know my opinion though, real drums every single time. Hands down...

Can Rock Music be Authentic within a Home Studio Environment?

Yes. Use whatever you want to. I just won't listen to most of it. :D But somebody probably will. And somebody (heaven forbid! ;) ) will probably actually like it. I have nothing against people using sims and drum machines and synth pads and whatever other digital whatnot when they have no other...
