    Baby Britain

Hey Rob, It's pretty cool.. and really great that you're getting a new space up and running. Excited to hear some new stuff from you. Comparisons with the original are inevitable, and the biggest thing I notice is a relative lack of punch. Mixwise, I think making the guitar a little more...

    moving multiple items

I'm not seeing your screen shot.. But you can select the tracks the same way you select files and folders in your OS's directory- using the SHIFT and CTRL buttons in conjunction with the mouse.. either hold CTRL and select the tracks you want, or select the bottom track, then hold down SHIFT...

miking front and back of a combo amp

Generally, with two mics, you will get some phase issues unless they are in the exact same spot. It may or may not be detrimental to your sound. Use your ears. You can zoom in on the wave and align if necessary. I track old Fenders, and mine can be a little brittle.. that's just their sound...

General Recording Question regarding different rooms

You can always add room, but you can't remove it. Use your limited time to track, not get in over your head with a room you can't control and find yourself back here asking more questions.

Have you come across bands online you thought were great, but had no following?

Wow, yeah, good point. Local bands completely blew my mind for a very long time, though I was lucky enough to live in a big college town with a pretty thriving scene.. alot of our bands became pretty well known nationally and overseas, though we're in a bit of a lull right now.

Vintage Sounds on a Shoestring Budget

Someone like that, who has a following, tours internationally, plays SXSW etc, has a different "shoestring budget" than you do.

Vintage Sounds on a Shoestring Budget

You are going to have a difficult time. As mentioned, none of those bands used synths and drum machines. It's probably easier to make convincing techno with only acoustic guitars and bongos.

Do you/will you copyright your songs?

But someone would have to learn my songs before they stole em. Not to be smug, but I don't see it happening. :)

Do you/will you copyright your songs?

If it really came down to it, having all the time stamped stem tracks, meta-data, and modify dates on your computer must count for something, no?

Have you come across bands online you thought were great, but had no following?

I just remembered something else re weird and home made music pre-internet- I went to a summer camp when I was around 12 and the counselors there were these older high school kids.. and there were these two guys, one played guitar through all these stompboxes and the other played synth. They...

Have you come across bands online you thought were great, but had no following?

I started a new high school when I was 14 and there was this dude in my English class that rocked a spiky leather jacket and a purple mohawk. He was a couple years older and had stayed back a couple times. I thought that was so cool, lol. I literally read the band names right off his jacket...

Have you come across bands online you thought were great, but had no following?

The radio has always been only one of many places where music can be discovered, even before the internet.

Unless you wanted to ruffle some feathers, in which case it's brilliant.

I'm sure you think differently when you're a few years from death and already a millionaire legend.
