Call me crazy but when I'm listening to a great groove and really into it, I want it to continue.

Come Forth - spooky ass white boy shit

Yeah man, my mixing kind of peaked out a few years back. Now I think I'm either regressing or rebelling- possibly both. :) Thanks for stoppin by KC, always a pleasure. :) Ok, I believe you if you say so, but my memory of that is completely different (though not exactly vivid)..

Come Forth - spooky ass white boy shit

Well, the masks are cool but the music is the main selling point for me. I like the loose tribal vibe and the whole polyrhythmic percussion they have going on,.. kind of like a modern Santana. I think it's a little more raw than what I do.. I sort of fall somewhere in the huge middle ground...

    New tune, yeah!

The Rhodesy patch that plays the chords throughout seems maybe a teensy bit muffled? I guess maybe because all your other instruments are so high and sparkly. That's about all I can think of to change.. Lovely layers though, very sweet sounds.. it's a jungle in there.

Wow. This sounds pretty bad ass. Definitely has an industrial vibe.. pretty warm fat tone from the synth. Which Korg is it?

Come Forth - spooky ass white boy shit

Maybe an owl?.. We have both owls and fishers here, but it doesn't quite sound like a fisher to me.. too low pitch. Good god though, that sound they make at night whilst slicing a lame buck to ribbons is one of the most unearthly howls I've ever heard. I'd love to get a clip of that, but it...

Yeah sounds good, I like stuff like that too.. just didn't know if it was intentional in your case. :)

That does sound better. I'd boost em a .5 - 1 dB during the denser chorus part. What's going on @ 2.23? Could be a submerged ambient vocal, but could also be a scratch take you left unmuted?

Ah, knowing you have a Hammond I kind of assumed you patched the guitar thru the Leslie speaker. What do you use for a multi-fx pedal? I've always gone the separate-pedals route myself..

You panned your doubled vocals? Don't do that, bring em in to the center. You'll still get the effect you want from the variations in the performance. And you might want to choose the best take to "lead" and drop the gain on the other track.

Come Forth - spooky ass white boy shit

Thanks so much for coming back.. at this point I have no objectivity and just wanted to make sure the new bass was in the right neighborhood. It's actually two bass tracks blended (A lower more rounded take, and a gritty middy take). I recorded the animal call in the woods near my house on a...

    The Gathering Crowd

Hm, tough one. Really sad story and song. As for the recording, the words don't completely jive with the music and it often feels like you're rushing to fit the lyrics in. I think your tone and timber are good, and this is an arrangement issue.. but I thought it was significant enough to warrant...

    cold, cold ground

I snuck a peek at this back when you posted the other tune. Sounds great to me. I can hear everything and I really like your oozy layers. The string swell is a little flat pitchwise, in relation to the other instruments. I've heard "real" recordings with bigger pitch issues, and it's an ambient...

Yeah, you are right. The vocals seem off key and sort of monochromatic, especially during the chorus. You're not quite hitting the "Heyyyyyyy"s, and the your doubling is pretty loose. I can tell you want that part to rip, and it could with some work.
