I've been looking for another acoustic electric. I want the electronics for gigging but also want a decent accoustic sound for recording. Let me say this first I HATE EVERYTHING OVATION. I've tried most of them and found them very unnatural feeling and lacking in acoustic sound quality. So much...
Nick unless you're doing live work as well, the board's just taking up space. The pre's are nothing compared to the octane's. Maybe sell it and get a control surface?
FS, fly me out there and I'll make some temperary uhm er electrical alterations before they sign off:D
You're better off building anyway man. Wasn't meant to be (don't you hate it when people say that?).
I think I need to say something here.
Garbage In
Garbage Out
ANALogue or Digital.
MY deciding factor is that I live in the sticks. I can't afford nor even find someone to align my deck or work on a console with major bucks involved. If my PM I/O craps or PT freezes up (rarely) I restart or...
Glen and Axis.
Not to buttkiss but as usual (mostly Glen but Axis is new to me) I have highlighted and printed your posts into my scrapbook at the studio. Glen we've butted heads a couple of times but your knowledge is one of the most valuable on this sight. Kudos!
I'm not sure but I don't think the DMP has digital outs. I'd think about a pre with digital outs to give you a couple of more in/outs. Maybe ART MPA Gold Digital. I have the non-dig version and it's a wonderful pre-amp IMO. Got a budget number?
Agreed and solid advice. I'd look into a 001 or the Focusrite MBox 1(solid little rig). If you're hooked, it won't take long to want to upgrade OS and get the "new" real deal.
It's still possible you're over driving the HP amp. It might not have the headroom like your power amp does. Does the Delta have an ITB mixer/router like my project mix I/O? Check your levels there and adjust. Not to mention check connections, cords, and obvious things like that. I've gotten...
Look you tard. It don't take any balls to post on these forums. If it did neither you or Hector would be here. What does take balls is to be a responsible person and do the right thing. Pay for your software like everyone else. Did you steal your guitar? Did you steal your mixer? Preamps? Mics...
I'm far from a gear snob. It's just that statement kind of slapped me. Best bang for the buck? I had a MIC2200 that did just exactly that in my rack. BANG! However I also have a COMP4 that does it's job quite well. I just don't get the modeling thang so to hear you say what you said....kind of...
Although my studio is running off an iMac G4, I don't think I will go that route when we upgrade. No PCI expansion (UAD or other HW upgrades) and the memory/cpu upgrades are either a bitch/expensive to install or not upgradeable at all. Definetly the tower route next time around. FWIW.
I'm not a Windows guy but it would seem the hardware is up to snuff. Have you had the machine optimized for ProTools use? I think you need to let us know what OS you're running and such.
Are you on drugs or what?!? How many amps have you played through. How many do you own? What guitars do you have? Awwwww NEVERMIND! Sorry but........BULL!
My original mBox rig. The first mBox (Focusrite) USB, old Mac G4 400 with 512K in it. I plan on pulling it out of retirement for home recording again. rarely froze and rarely a hiccup. Seems like I fight our studio rig alot more than I ever did with this rig.
