New mp3, Robin Trower cover with vocals

Sonixx, I know what you mean. I probably should of rolled off some on the (guitar's) volume knob to clear it up a bit. But at the time I was searching the amp for that thick fuzzy tone, so I went ahead and used it. You might like the lead tone on my (earlier) instrumental version better...

New mp3, Robin Trower cover with vocals

Drum track was done with the Zoom RT-323. I really like the realistic sounds I get out of it. Sounds alot better than the Boss, in my opinion.

New mp3, Robin Trower cover with vocals

I took my old instrumental version of Trower's "In My Dream", added vocals and made a new lead guitar track. For only my second attempt at singing (I used my blues voice this time) I'm really happy with how it turned out. What do ya'll think? All the recording info is at my website (by clicking...

Opinion & comments needed for my latest mix

Ok I bumped the vocals back up and redid the bass guitar track. I tried lowering the lows on the guitars but just couldnt get a sound I was happy with.. It was like shrinking the guitar's balls... So I rerecorded the bass guitar with more lows.. I probably just muddied it up more. I cant seem...

Opinion & comments needed for my latest mix

I guess since I cant stand my own voice, is why I want to bury it in the track... I just lowered it a bit then gave the whole song an overall boost. To me it sounds better, then again i'm playing it back through an Aiwa shelf stereo system.. Do you think I should bump the vocals back up? (I...

Opinion & comments needed for my latest mix

I just finished this up and would like to hear comments on the mixing. This recording is a lot of first's for me: First time I have ever sang, first time I have ever recorded singing, first time I have mic'ed an acoustic guitar (sm57), first time I have used hard panning on my guitar tracks...

Please vote my mp3 for new theme song

Just two days left until the next round... I wish they had judges to pick the winner instead of this internet voting stuff. Oh well, anyone who hasn't voted, please do so. If I make to the next round I might have a chance. Anyone know of a mailing list I could use to solicit some votes? Thanks!

    Radio Station eq'ing & limiting

My fussing paid off. The webmaster switched the mp3's to the remastered versions I did. At least they have volume now. Anyone have any tricks for mastering, so it will also sound good on the radio?

    Radio Station eq'ing & limiting

A local radio station is throwing a contest for a new theme song so I submitted one of my mp3's. When they played it on the radio I was surprised of how bad it sounded, the low end got all mudied up. Then they ripped my song into a sample mp3 which really sounds terrible (and has almost no...

    New mp3 - a blues shuffle

I think I went to far on the Loudness Maximizer and got that overall distortedness. I went back and lowered it a little, it should be more clear now. Thanks! http://www.dabluesman.com/DaBluesShuffle.mp3

    New mp3 - a blues shuffle

Ahh the dreaded monitor buzz.. yes I know this. I fixed it (and greatly increased my guitar tone) by installing Bill Lawrence L-280 pickups in my strat & L-500's in my LP ;) Oh and turn away from the monitor when you play and try to be atleast three feet away from it :D Webster Street...
