    i hate your kikc sound.

Don't listen to Strung Out's "Exile In Oblivion". That's the worse kick sound I've ever heard. I prefer the beach ball sound to that clicky thing. It was more like kick accompanied by band.... Amazing album besides that one MAJOR deficiency.

    Splitting a stereo track....

That's weird, I was looking for this function earlier today. While there are workarounds, Reaper should have a simple little function to do this. In ProTools you can just drag a stereo track onto two empty mono tracks and it'll split it for you, and in my opinion, Reaper is better than...

just got done with an LDC shootout...

Nice playing, man! I didn't think any of the mics sounded bad. #1 was a bit treble heavy, #2 sounded a bit muffled, #3 had some mid range boost, and #4 had some high mid boost. At least that's what I heard on a few quick listens. I personally think each mic would work equally well in different...

    how to fix distorted snare??

You could physically redraw the peaks, but I don't know if Reaper offers this capability. Plus, it would take forever. Drumagog is probably your best bet.

You jerk, you just started up my GAS (again) ;). That is one sexy guitar. What about sound clips?

Where can i get a beginner cello?

Which brand from that site do you think has the best sound to price ratio? I've been wanting to play cello for a while now, but I know almost nothing about them. I want a full size one with the whole outfit (case and bow), but don't really have any other requirements, other than a decent sound...

    Amp Modeling

The simulanalogue guitar suite is pretty nice. Probably the best modeler I've played through.

    Eq

More precisely, Q is 1/octave. So a Q of 1 covers a range of an octave, 2 is a half octave, etc. danny.guitar, thanks for the helpful info at the beginning of this thread.

    What mic am I lacking?

A 58 in case one of the screamers absolutely NEEDS to hold the mic. I'd also get at least 1 more 57. Saving up for a U87 would be key, though, because that's one of the mics musicians know about and if they don't see it, they may not take you seriously.

    Orianthi

Yea, I agree. There's talent there, she has a good tone. It's just that pentatonics are boring now. There should be more lead players. A couple years ago I saw a Led Zeppelin tribute band called Lez Zeppelin. Some damn fine musicians in that group, would've loved to hear some original material.

    XP 64-bit Worth It?

Multiple cores are more important. I wouldn't bother with 64 bit Windows. I've heard far too many problems with it.

    bravo ethan winer...

I guess it depends on how much it costs. I'm hoping for under $100. Then I can listen to all of them. How'd they make 100,000 of them......

Very excellent! Thanks, I'll give this a look tonight when I get home.

    bravo ethan winer...

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, even if it's wrong. :D Nice work Ethan! So this was the project you were talking about last year. I might have to buy that DVD....

    recording noisey drummers

Wow, must've been drunk, my apologies. :o I was completely wrong on both fronts. Eh, it happens to the best of us, and also to me too sometimes.

    recording noisey drummers

Yea, assuming the guy wants to lose his hearing. guitarboi89: who says that super loud cymbals in contrast to soft drums are what's need? I find the opposite to be true most of the time.

    Nice Bass!

The translucent cabs are pretty bitchin too.

best drum track machine on the planet

User friendly, maybe. Authentic sounding? If by that you mean authentic to general MIDI, then sure. Maybe I missed the point?

    How Many Hours per song?

Two songs took about 8 hours a few weeks ago. But they were very rough, just a couple mics on the kit, and one per instrument (bass, 2 guitars, lead vox, 2 harmony vox). The longest part is always setup and levels. It's also the most important part. Mind you, this was live to 2 inch, with only...
