If you have a spare channel, you can set up a mult by sending the vocal out the aux send (pre-fader) into the line in of another channel, and adding the reverb to that new channel's aux. Make sure you do NOT have the group switch on for that new channel, but you DO have the ST switch on.

What DAW are you using? You can set up the reverb send as normal, record, then change it or remove it later. The reverb doesn't get recorded with the vocal, it is applied in real time by the software, and it's always adjustable after the fact.

In addition, pick way towards the bridge. The orange dunlop gives a bit of that scratchy sound. I'm not sure about the flatwounds, I've always gotten better "punk" sounds from really bright roundwounds like the DR hibeams.

Not bad. I think the kick sounds fine, but the snare sounds like it's in a small box. I'm not sure if the snare sounds like that in your room, or if there are other things going on. Have you done any sort of processing to the kit, or is this a raw recording?

I've gotten some really nice sounds by using both an sm57 and an md409 on the same speaker. The 57 has that really aggressive attack (there's a spike around 2k in it's frequency response) and the 409 fills in everywhere else with a really "smooth" sound. Track that a bunch of times and pan them...

I've gotten consistently good sounds miking the part of the body next to where it connects to the neck. The center of that part of the guitar has the most "tone", IMO. Put the mic a foot or two back and you should be golden. YMMV

It sounds like a combination of autotune and a dozen different takes edited together. But it works with the song, so who cares?

To get that huge sound with what you have, make some changes to the Toneport patches. Make one kind of trebly, one kind of bassy, use different amp models, etc.

If I have two mikes on a subject facing opposite each other, I'll invert polarity on one of them, see if it sounds better, then switch it back if i doesn't. It's a common misconception that you have to flip polarity on one of the mikes if they're facing each other. Only do it if it sounds good...

Good mike technique should help you more than anything. Splitting the take is a common method, especially for trying to get a slightly different sound for different parts of a song.
